How is the sport tuner from Dinan? Interesting its so much cheaper than the performance tuner they sell. I'm considering getting it for the M2! |

I have the Dinantronics and the Fabspeed sport cat...it is a potent combo...the sport cat really took things up a notch, not sure how much difference the stage 1 Dinantronics has made, but it definitely added to the mid range...I have heard the far less expensive tune is great for far less $; but I am planning on eventually adding the Dinan big turbo-intercooler set up...so I went for the whole enchilada.....

That is, if you were to leave everything under the valve cover stock, every internal part inside the block stock, but change everything else that is "outside" (turbo, exhaust, intercooler, injectors, engine management, etc), how much power can you make before things like pistons and rods need to be changed? It would be totally illegal of course on the street, but I imagine the stuff you guys are doing is technically illegal anyway. For this, I guess assume 92 octane pump gas as the fuel. I don't even want to think about 91 eeesh. Then for a "stage 2" let's say you converted to a flex-fuel engine management, using an off the shelf ethanol sensor, and mixing E85 into the tank to ward off knock at high boost, then what could the engine do on stock internals?

I recommend it to anyone. I am actually sending one to a friend over in UK this week. Combined with the FMIC and 93 octanes I have had no issues with it, no limp/safe mode running it hard.

Was using on Sport+ since day one until I took to the dyno. Did two pulls on sport+ and one in Race and there was a considerable bump. I usually alternate.

UK uses RON. North America uses MON.
"Because of the 8 to 12 octane number difference between RON and MON, the AKI shown in Canada and the United States is 4 to 6 octane numbers lower than elsewhere in the world for the same fuel." - Wiki Therefore our fuel isn't shittier. It's just numbered differently. 49/50 states in the USA have 93MON which is the equivalent of your 98RON. It's just California that has to make due with shitty 91. Probably because of emissions. First run is my baseline and the next two are modded with the following bolt-ons:
JB4 Map 3 with a Boost Additive of 70 BMS Water-Methanol Injection Fabspeed Catless Downpipe Pretty damn happy with the torque figure, wish the HP number was slightly higher. The sharp torque drop right after the car hits peak boost must be something with the dyno / M2 / JB4 logic. If I compare the logs on the dyno vs. on the street you can see that the throttle plate closes right after the car hits peak boost when its on the dyno, but when its on the street it does nothing of the sort - it's a lot smoother in its throttle modulation. Weird, not sure why there would be that difference, but it definitely doesn't feel like there is a sharp torque drop while on the road. Will be sending these graphs and logs off to BMS to see what they say!

Endeav no map0 or map4 pull to see delta?
Judging by just these numbers, other cars making this power without Meth btw not sure what to make o fit and there's something seriously not happy with the car after 5500rpm when those lines are so choppy (unstable) even on smoothing 5 Grab DRF files from dyno shop and can view at home for further studying.

I'll grab the DRF files hopefully sometime this week and send them your way. I have the JB4 logs from on the dyno as well - would you like those?

I had a baseline Dyno run performed today. Car is a 2017 M2 w/ mostly cosmetic and shifter related mods. I do have the Dinan exhaust but that shouldn't add any power. I did have the resonator delete as well but didn't like the highway drone so the shop welded in the stock resonator before the Dyno time. The car is on 93 octane fuel.
HP = 356.5 hp TQ = 385.9 ft-lbs Not that it means a whole lot since the delta is what matters once modding begins but those seem like strong numbers for a stock car.

Pretty high reading 356whp SAE numbers it seems. We're looking at a 365whp STD corrected, stock.

Like I said, not super concerned with the numbers, more so delta and area under the curve once I get actual power mods. The tech did mention that their dyno typically reads a few percentage points lower than several other Dynojets in the area so IDK
