So just to throw more fuel to the adaptive led headlight fire... Did anyone notice that there is not a lane departure icon lit up in between the the two gauges? Which means no driving assistance... Maybe the hexagonal head lights are standard and not required to have the exec package?

Any idea when the first bimmerpost delivery will be? Sounds like folks on the East Coast may have them first week of August?

Well, at least you can put the chrome trim issue to rest, then, if not the exec pack debate.

If I had to guess I'd bet the new gauge cluster is backlit white during the day and orange at night. My F30 isn't it backlit during the day, which doesn't matter because I have a HUD, but the gauges are definitely tough to read. On the other hand, my wife's X3's gauges are backlit all the time (white-daytime, orange-night) and it helps. A ton. Here's hoping the LCI M2 is like the X3 gauge-wise; if so, I won't miss the HUD one bit.

So potentially some questions answered with this YouTube video...
At the 2:17 point, you can see the dashboard has contrasting stitching. This doesn't mean it will be Blue in the M2, or that it's real and not pressed into vinyl, but it does look quite nice. No lighting in the eyebrow section of the LCI headlights either, which is a shame. I do like the marketing terms in the video though. This one was my favourite: "The Kidney Grille expresses the powerful design underlining the specific model line" - WTF?!? |

Here is the interior of the M240i with piano black: Skip to 3m34s - Link I hope these European M2s are just misconfigured by the ordering departments and that the interior trim is matched to the exterior trim (shadowline / luxury line). Same video, showing the convertible with the chrome. |

Am I the only one who likes the pre-LCI gauges better? I thought the grey cluster was a nice ode to the E46 M3. The new ones look like a direct carry over from my Mum's X6M, a car that I'm not very found of.

No, appearance wise, I prefer the pre-LCI gauges. Though I have no choice, have an LCI on order so that's what I'll get. I can see the issues with usability on the Pre-LCI, but I agree with you that they look nicer.

Generally it's a best practice to wait for your oil temp to come up in all performance cars. But some will suffer more than others.

As a point of reference it does seem like the OK temp corresponds to an oil temp of 60C when I was monitoring the water and oil temp using the M Performance steering wherl |
