Let's talk hips!

I know the colors vs lines have been talked to death, but I am interested in one detail: the hips. What color does the best job as showing just how wide the car really is. I think LBB hide the hips a little more than white (those are the only two colors I've seen in person).

My order is the BSM since everybody who's actually seen it seems to love it but tend to be afraid of maintaining it. I hand wash every week anyways so it's not a big deal for me. How does BSM show the width of the car compared to other colors?

For those who have seen the colors in person, what colors make the car look the widest?

BSM looks great when clean - so with that being no problem for you as the car gets washed once a week - go with it! BSM is the most menacing color of the four - if you pair it with a few mods (like gurney flap or blacked out front grills) it will be the best looking option. BSM shows the width of the car really well and makes the car standout from a M240i more than alpinwhite for example.

BSM shows off its hips gangsa style like Blac Chyna.

Grey always seemed pretty hip-enhancing to me.

I have LBB, and NO complaints about how wide the stance is. When detailed, the reflections that the LBB paint gives off really accentuates the flares.

I found LBB to show off the hips the most, because of how the color changes a bit around the bends.

MG to me shows the least hips, followed by AW and then BSM.

LBB would be it. AW, BSM, and MG do not do a good job at all. It's really surprising to me how little AW shows the body lines. From many angles, the fenders are washed out a lot and can look like a M235/M240. Too bad they don't offer Mineral White. That's the color I have on my M235 and it's amazing just how much that color pops the body lines in almost every lighting situation. It's a huge difference from AW in terms of shadowing body lines and popping the fender work.

I've spent my whole life trying to make my butt look smaller and now I'm going to be sitting in traffic looking at all the other cars and thinking "Do I look fat?"

Me and my LBB are just big boned.

I noticed this when I saw the car in person and some videos. I don't think the lines for AW show as well as LBB but the hips look wider maybe due to the contrast of white against the background. I also noticed that maybe the AW needs to be lowered, otherwise it looks kind of like a buggy...

No idea how MG or BSM look in real life but just from the LBB and AW I've seen, it appears as though white looks a lot fatter. Granted, I didn't get to see them side by side in the same lighting conditions.

That picture you posted along with other from the same angle are tempting me to make the change to AW. BUT, again, what I've read from people who have seen all colors side by side say that BSM is the best.

In photos white seems to have no lines at all. In person it's a bit better to me. LBB has hips. MG really has hips. Have not seen a black on in person up close just driving by once.

I got to say even in that last photo, the LBB looks like it has bulging muscles or something compared to the AW.

MG: not quite 'flat-chested', methinks.

I love white, and have owned only white BMWs. .Until now.. Thats because I found white to be the only color where rear fender flares (hips) seem less pronounced. White kind of swallows up the detail line... LBB as well as the other colors do a great job of showing them off.. I found white to be a hip hider.. Great for girls on a diet, but not for M2s! (not intended to insult anyone)

Really depends on the lighting, butt :-] to me white shows the girth more than black. Compare it to checking out some girls arse in a dingy bar. Black will always hide more than white....it is that simple!

It's almost like AW hides the bulge and line, but accentuates the width.

A true silver would probably have been the best color for this car to show off the fenders.

Oh is that one of the iridescent wraps? I wondered why it looked darker than LBB typically looks in photos.
