Review: Stoptech Sport Pads for light track use

After a couple track days and experienced that mushy feel from residue left on the rotor, I decided to swap the pads. I did not want to swap it for every session, and I only do about 5 days a year, so I went with something that is not too aggressive as they will be my daily.

Heard some good things about the Stoptech sport and I'm quite impressed. Sound was like stock for daily and definitely more bite on the track. Held up quite well with minimal fade. (It was a 3 hour session with breaks between 5-8 laps) Didn't need to wait a few days for the mushy feeling to be gone. I've had Carbotech XP before, and it's not as bulletproof as track pads. But for the non hardcore weekend warriors, it's worth a try. Price is pretty good too.

You're in Toronto right? Where did you pick them up from, and how much? My tire guy seems to only be able to find the front pads and not the rears.

If you drive hard at the track they will go fast. Mine went in 2.5 track days. Fronts were gone. Using sr33 race compound for the track now. Crazy bite

Just my local mechanic. The store is called Apex in Markham. Beside Markville Mall. Not sure which distributor he went with, but I'm guessing JRP should have some.

I'm sure they won't last long if you go hard on them. But for the not so hardcore crowd, they are not bad.

They claim to be less. I've only had them for 3 days, so I'll give you a more accurate assessment in a few weeks. But for that one track day, it seems to be less.

With the amount that I did, no. Can't speak for prolonged lap sessions however.
