Finally swapped plugs

Swapped plugs yesterday from OEM to NGK Iridium Laser plugs (I believe 1 step colder) Car feels better...The open exhaust lets you hear sporatic misfires more easily. I got the car/turbo hot and did some 3rd gear pulls and the misfires are gone and overall 3rd gear+ pulls much harder when hot, before misses could get so bad in 5th i couldn't even redline... So early next week I'll pickup some 100% methanol and race gas and hit the dyno...

The OEM plugs were dark and for only <3k miles indicate a rich mixture, however I do drive aggressively so that's to be expected...

Very much looking forward to some solid numbers...

Installed Seibon Carbon fiber hood today :)

Picked up a Seibon Carbon Hood from Vivid last week... and Installed it today...Took less than 45 mins, holes were in perfect alignment and the hood could not have fit better...It was dark by the time I was done detailing

I think I aged out of CF hoods. How much weight did you save and will you run hood pins?

As did I. As I said I needed a new hood....So could've paid 750 + Paint. So about 1000, or same price for Siebon which left a few option

I have some cool ideas...well see how it goes.

Cool Video I made with Track Addict/ Race Render...Took a pic of my guages at night, erased the needles and put RR needles on instead. Since I needed an OBDII dongle to get telemetry the JB4 had no info so no meth, (thins can be changed in meth settings by msking meth completely boodt depended...Stats were (it was slihtly damp...0-60 in 6 secs 330' lol....horrible launch 12.6x @ 119MPH....I doubt its even close to an accurate, number, i highly doebt im trapping 119 even with a good launch and meth BUT stock I ran this same place w nothing but 20%e85 and a dp and did consistant 13-13.4 @ 105-110...SO def some improvement with FBO and better tires

Finally swapped seats...

Very glad I did...The stock seats feel like they have to be 100lbs each,so swapping the seats lost at least 150lbs,, another 100lbs with the wheels/tires, 50+ lbs read seat delete, and the hood about 20lbs....so conservatively Ive dropped 200-300lbs and it feels much faster...The seats also must of absorrbed vibration bc I feel the vibration of the car...Handling is 10xs better bc your not worried about sliding out of the seat...Heres some pics

The wheels shipped at 17lbs each, OEM wheels felt st least 30 lbs-40lbs and the Nittos are signifigantly lighter than stock M PS2s ...100lbs may be an exaggeration but even 20lbs x 4 = 80lbs...

Oem wheels are 10.x kg, equals 23lbs per wheel. Rubber excluded.

Never ever are you going to save 80lbs just switching wheels and rubber.

Don't get me wrong. I love your mods espcially on the weight saving side and the seats.

Your estimated Weight savings are wildly optimistic. Example, (best case scenario) wheels/tires saved 10-15lbs. Not to mention added weight (2 nitrous tanks and 2 reservoirs etc).

yea must of been drunk when i wrote that...I will say after the seats mayne bc more vibrstion or posture the car feels 300lbs lighter. The seats did save over 100lbs...Wheels apparently 25lbs, Tires can vary widely in weight and the small weight saving of the wheels I think can make a mediocre balance bc of the unsprung weight and centripetal force...The hood almost nothing, lower rear seats almost nothing...Upper rear seats feel like 20-40lbs....

N20 / C02 tanks are not currently in nor the fuel cell but like you said installed they will add 30-40lbs full...Safe to say I am offsetting amy weight I am adding. Im sure we can agree 0n that

My wish came true...Finally...

One thing that I beleive gives my car more whp gains than any other mod aside from my Flash, Is my exhaust setup... If your new to the thread I've had a y pipe with a QTP Electronic cutout, Ive taken that off and cut off the flange, to weld a 3" "Loud valve" which is a 3" boost activated dump located immediately after my VRSF 4" cat less test pipe.

Reason being running open exhaust on turbo cars helps large turbos spool much faster and small turbos evacuate heat even faster. I know they result in significant results bc years ago I ran a 3" cutout similar on my Lancer Evolution 8, another small engine (2.0L) but running a small twin scroll turbo peaking at 20psi. On a mustang dyno if I remember right, It only made about 20-30 awhp (Open vs Closed, with FBO, Bigger turbo hotside, test pipe, and STOCK EXHAUST) but it did add well over 50ft/lbs awtq and it also made that extra 20-30 awhp very consistently at higher RPM making the biggest gains right around peak RPM (resulting in me raisning redline to 9,200RPM...But thats off topic)

However, I realized quickly there after there was no direct boost source on the F series M2...So I've been leaving the valve off all the way off...Its obviously EXTREMELY LOUD at cold startups and in sport/sport + but the cars so insulated its still reasonably quite in the cabin as crazy as that sounds...

The small turbo muffles the sound slightly, but high load it sounds like a racing powerboat lmao.. It may not be a tuned sound at all obviously but it sounds bad-ass (for lack of a better term lol) .I like it, but obviously neighbors don't...It also has been a good excuse to pull me over and write "equipment violations" understandably...

Ive left it loud also took away the small amount of lag and just made the car literally instantly hit peak boost, in fact in low gears it built boost too fast and before Bootmod3 tune **(that seems it uses throttle closure to keep better control of boost.)**

It also removed restriction from the exhaust which evacuated the heat much faster than even the most expensive and most free flowing exhaust...I personally believe its so effective at removing heat faster and removing any lag, its seems to have bumped the efficiency range of the turbo maybe 500+RPM, as it holds 18-20psi till around 6k-6500...in optimal conditions...While other logs seem to show peak boost falling off earlier in general. Again not scientific just a small difference I noticed...

Anyway I was planning ways to remove and drill into the stock manifold, which obviously wasn't my first choice...But I found this was just released my Mad Schnell...It is placed on the M2/3/4 between the manifold and the MAP sensor I believe,, Making it completely plug and play, removable and perfect for the analog gauge Ive wanted...

Heres the link.

Some New Goodies...

Recieved my M Performance 2 Series Floor mats along w/
Fuel Lab EFI Blue Anodized Fuel Pressure regulator (Boost Referenced 1:1)
Black Nylon Braided PTF 3/8th and 5/16th Fuel Hose

On order: 5/16 fuel barb to 1/4NPT to adapt my post pump fuel line to the Fuel Solendoid...

Jaz 3 Galon Plastic Alcohol friendly hose to replace 10 Gal Aluminum Cell ( I dont know what I was thinking on that.)

..Most likely Ill have MS100 or 109 in there or even C16, but if I decide to run ethanol or methanol with that system Id like to avoid aluminum, lol...

But between Meth, The secondary fuel pump/system for N20 and running high Octane fuel, since my N20 will run inverse boost on a custom tune only ramping up as less than stock boost levels fall in the upper RPM range, Detonation is covered and probably overkill,I might get away with little to no timing retard on stock tune, no overboost, leaned out a tad (allowing me to precisely tune the AFR with FPR , meth and wideband even when not spraying nitrous...

Loving NX Express Maximizer 5 and 4" LCD Controller, combined with my safeguards, (Physical and JB4) the progressive control, options and ease of use make it ideal and an amazing tool for my exact setup..

.N20 control:

By Gear
MPH
TPS
RPM Window
EGT Temps
AFR
Timing
IAT
Meth Flow

Or any combo of these, and Im prob forgetting some... also its 2 stage which is always safer and mch easier to get a linear powerband. PPL forget a 50 shot at 8000RPMs is literally 1/2 the N20 as the same jetting at 4000...

Decisions???

I cant decide to run a quart rounded plastic fuel cell under the hood for my nitrous booster or a 3 gallon cell in the trunk...This is for the N20 Fuel booster.Ugh.

3rd options always a surge tank but I would prefer to run c16 or ms 100/109 in the secondary tank as I will already be spraying about 12% of total fuel VOLUME Water?meth...

No. Not until I have the nitrous running well and dialed in....I went with a Jazz Products Foam filled 1 gal plastic fuel cell so I can run alcohol.fuels in it like straight ethanol....so between running E or C16 in fuel cell...50/50 water meth, my C02 intercooler sprayer and 93 octane in the tank with an upgraded LPFP....Im thinking ill be able to run at least a 50-75 shot witj 16psi to redline without having to retard timing at a at higher rpm...twisted tuning just released a direct port n20 system for n55/n54 and on the n54 w 19psi they made 531whp @ 6k RPMs....obviously heats less of an issue with twin turbo but I think.running the M2s single turbo at lower boost (15-16psi) combined w c02/methanol/and c16 mixed in the wetshot ill be able to run 75shot with a slightly more agressive tune or 100 shot with minimal ignition timing retard near redline...Anytging over 500whp at 6-7k rpms will b significantly faster than a ps2 and enough to silence the doubters that told me "id blow the engine" and or "I'll never make over 500whp on stock turbo"....dyno will be coming soon...running nitrous on a high boost car I have no desire to test n tune on a dyno in 90+ degree summer heat...ill prob do initial testing in the winter to lessen chance of detonation...
