Bigger turbo worth it on N55?
Just wondering what you all think if a bigger turbo is worth the investment for power return? I have a 2018 M2 with FBO and wondering if I should go further.

From what I understand, if you push the car on a regular basis with a bigger turbo on the N55, it puts that engine at risk.
Wait until the S58 comes in a couple of years. |

That really depends more on you than the car.
Stock M2 is a fun car, bigger turbo modified M2 is a tire shredding beast. Which one do you want to own? Once my warranty is over I will slightly modify my car but I'll be focusing on throttle response and minimizing turbo lag (intercooler, charge pipe, diverter valve, etc) If you want to get to 500+ whp it's worth starting with the S55 M2C. |

This is a personal question. Lol. I feel full FBO power is plenty for the car and it’s balance on public roads.
No one can answer if you are willing to spend the $ and take the durability risk. Or what $/HP is worth it. I’d move to M2C and start stock baseline S55 and build that if you want crazy power |

Are you talking about a Pure Stg2 or a Dinan turbo? Or are you talking about something bigger all together?
From what I remember hearing, and I could be wrong, PS2 and Dinan turbo will make the same peak power as Stock FBO w/ BM3, but the power will be more up top. I don't need more up top power in my daily driver, not trying to get more speeding tickets, so stock is fine for me. |

In Europe, 500+ are:
- intercooler (Wagner) - DP without catalyst (Milltek, Wagner, MG Motorsport) - exhaust system (Milltek, Acrapovic) - intake system (Eventuri, Arma) - good quality Shell 100 octane fuel - high pressure fuel pump - TTE 550 turbo and ready I'm just waiting for a turbo from TTE and I'm going to make this set myself. car: BMW M2 2018 manual LCi N55 engine PS: You can even play 750+ on the S55 engine __________________ |

just depends on your power goals...there a few of the m235i guys with the big aftermarket turbo swaps doing 600whp on a stock block. Most dont recommend going past 600whp without rebuilding the block.
you'll have to upgrade your fuel system as well for that kind of power so it does start getting really expensive when you start going down that rabbit hole. |

I run a G-Power turbo and it works well, just upgrade the HPFP to a XDI 35 or 60 before you go for it. I have around 440-450whp and it works very well on the car, I mostly use it on tracks and have no reliability issues so far. Will try with more boost soon, but I want a driveable car not a car with big traction issues.

Noting that - with the traction control off - it seems to have more torque than traction, have you considered just saying it has over 400bhp?
Much cheaper... |

I'm running a PS2 with the XDI35 HPFP and am making 500whp @22psi on 100 octane race gas tuned by TTFS and drive the piss out of the car without any issues. Coincidentally, TYSP33D's Tyler Pappas is running the exact same setup I am (not sure what fuel he uses) and he's racing his N55 M2 competitively in club sport, time attack and this past weekend at Pike's Peak and he's not having any trouble either.
