FINAL MY2016 North American M2 Production Numbers
I have completed my data download from BMW VIN records. Much thanks to Artemis for starting this as per this thread:
http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1206283 Here are the numbers: ****EDIT**** FINAL NUMBERS AS OF JULY 3, 2016 713 NA MY16 M2's produced. The first was VIN WBS1H9C50GV351800 on 11/20/2014 and the last, or 713th, VIN WBS1H9C50GV786316 on June 23, 2016. There are 4 MY17 M2's which are sequentially within the MY2016 M2's. WBS1H9C55HV786233 WBS1H9C57HV786234 WBS1H9C59HV786235 WBS1H9C50HV786236 These are designated individual vehicles, SPECIAL CHECK TRADE FAIR/PHOTO VEHICLE, one in each color and have not yet been produced and are not included in the count of 713. So of the 713 (this includes all preproduction Individuals, Dealer presentation, HEA, and camouflaged vehicles) the color breakdown is: LBB 350 49.09% AW 173 24.26% MGM 100 14.03% BSM 90 12.62% DCT 402 56.4% 6MT 311 43.6% Tranny preference by color LBB 54% DCT 46% 6MT AW 61% DCT 39% 6MT MGM 50% DCT 50% 6MT BSM 63% DCT 37% 6MT Canadian Version 98 of the 713 The attached PDF breaks down the count, in decreasing amount, for color, transmission, dealer presentation, HEA, Preproduction Individual cars (not sure if they remained in circulation), Executive package option, and Canadian Version. You can have fun with this. For example, 51 cars where produced as LBB DCT HEA and EP; 23 Canadian LBB 6mt with EP were produced; 3 BSM 6mt without EP were produced, etc. Enjoy!!!! |

A few people have made similar comments. According to the BMW Genius I spoke with, our vehicles won't show up on the website until they actually go into production, which should be a couple weeks before the production week you were given.

Really - that is weird. As soon as I had my production number, it was visible as "accepted by BMW" or whatever - long before it was scheduled for production. Is that situation for MY2017 only?

It may very well be. I've seen numerous people share frustration that they aren't able to pull up their status on the website, myself included. I've had my production number since the 06/15 and I check the site almost daily.

Thank you Artemis! It is only because of your original legwork that I was able to accomplish this! I tracked back from my NA VIN, WBS1H9C58GV786175, and was then able to connect the dots Along that line have you any idea what the present european and british M2 vin #'s might be? the preproduction euro Vins you originally listed seem to end! Perhaps with some help we can track down those production numbers also |

Raw Data
I have been asked by several folks to make the raw data available.
As a service to the F87 community....here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing If you use the info for non illegal purposes, please credit me! If it is for illegitimate purposes I want no part of it. All the NA MY16 VIN numbers and options are on this spreadsheet. I have tried very hard to make sure there are no errors. If anyone finds an error, i.e. option code missing, please let me know. Ultimately this can be used as an M2 Registry so if anyone wishes to claim ownership to a certain VIN please feel free to reply and/or PM me so it can be updated. Obviously this can also be extended to MY2017 NA as well as MY16 and 17 euro and RHD M2's. For that I would need some present euro and RHD VIN numbers and volunteers to copy and paste info from http://bimmer.work/ Very easy, enter 7 digit VIN and hit control A, then paste special>text into a word doc and then send onto me. If BMWNA or BMW has a problem with this data being available, they can PM me and it can then be discussed. |

Edit: See note below
Hey there. I took reppucci 's data and did some basic normalization and ran some pivots. Once I figure out a simple way to call out Exec Pkg, I'll pivot on that. {Sorry folks - had a mistake in my table - some MY17s included. Will rework and reports. Sorry for confusion.}

I think you are off! There are only 713 MY16 total cars. Not sure how you got 744! You are including the MY17 cars built through 6/24 and those still in the system!! Look carefully at the last 31 in the spreadsheet!!!! Backup camera option is what you want to use to identify the exec pack. |
