LED door sill
Hi,
So i have ordered some LED M performance door sills but my local dealer wanted a fortune to install them. So will try to do it myself first, so my question to everyone is does anyone know how the stock ones are fasten down, glue or clips? Plus how to remove them, just a trim tool to pop them up/out? Any assistance is appreciated Thanks Last edited by spookyzeus; 03-12-2018 at 04:33 AM.. |

They appear to be battery powered (like a watch battery) and switched with a magnet like a security system. How much did you get them for?

They are power by a battery thats activated by the magnet, make sure you remove the plastic push tab in the center and cut the metal tab thats its attached to off

They look nice, but I see a few potential issues.
The fact that they run on a battery and aren't connected to the vehicle in anyway makes me wonder how long they're gonna last before you're taking the sills apart again. Seems like a hassle. Then there's the magnets under the doors that are held in place by a sticker basically. Those might get ripped off during a car wash or just fall off on their own over time. If these were hooked up to the car I'd get them in a second, but they really seem like a retro fitted afterthought and not something that was designed to be there. I went with the door logo projectors instead since they're securely fastened and properly powered: Food for thought. |
