MG v BSM v AW image compilation
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com My M2 obsession has kicked back in again and considering MG and AW. I have thrown in BSM for good measure, sorry LBB you are too green for my liking. MG because I like how it shows the lines and I like metallic cars and it's closer to my old Silver Grey E46 M3 which I miss. I like the AW because of contrast between black wheels tyres and the white and also think it looks great with a gloss black roof. I don't like the way the front looks in AW though. Looks to bare or flat?? Last edited by Hazey82; 05-18-2017 at 06:38 PM.. |

The LBB looks much different in person than it does in photographs, assuming though that you know that.
I love the look of the BSM but I've owned a black car and never again, too much work. I currently have an Alpine White M3 and needed a change, the LBB fit the bill. Never really considered the MG. |

I find it ironic that folks talk about how hard it is to maintain a black car. The hardest thing to keep clean on an M2 is the wheels. And guess what ? They're BLACK. It takes me half the time to clean the car as it does the wheels.

...and boy do these wheels get dirty fast! As my first BMW, I kind of expected this since almost every (non enthusiast) BMW Ive ever seen has had super dirty front wheels. Would def look into other pad options when the time comes but at same time would hate to lose some stopping power. |

This almost calls for another set of wheels, don't you think? Especially since I got Contis... 20" M666 looks great on the M2 IMO. But they are expensive... And doesn't look too easy to clean either. |

Those who think black is toughest to keep clean just have a lower standard of clean IMO. Paint color does not matter. Take two cars and drive them in the same conditions on the same road at the same time. They will be just as dirty. Colors that don't 'seem' as dirty, are still.

So in other words it is harder to maintain a black car. |

That's probably just one reason why black is the fastest color. |

Black looks like shit with just some dust on it, something most other colors still can have but look just fine. I wash my car at least once per week but while that is enough for the red, white and blue cars I've owned it wasn't for my black cars.

I have bought white cars since 1987 starting w/my Audi GT Coupe (wish quattro wasn't an arm and leg back then)
Any way white always looks clean as long as you don't smear the dirty on it. My X5 is Space Gray...a nice color...the problem with gray, black, etc. is they look fantatic when clean but as soon as they get a light coat of dust on them they look...ummm...OK. My bike was black and though I love clean black paint it gets swirls in the clear which are reflected back by the black. Most annoying when up close detailing. If you live in a state that snows look at the white cars when driving in the slush and muck. They still look good. Just my 2 cents. |

I am leaning toward the MG. I think it will bring more satisfaction as far as angles and certain lighting conditions based on some of the pics I have seen on here and because I loved silver grey metallic on my e46. But then I love the contrast of the white with black wheels tyres and blue calipers. Just pops!

It's only a car, man, you're not naming your first born. You're not going to make "the wrong" decision. Pick one and go, it's a beautiful vehicle in all colors and you will be happy with whatever you choose.
