Had my car (built 04/2017) flashed yesterday and got this Version.
Power delivery is smoother, not as brutal as before. ASD is toned down much more and lag between shifts is not as bad as before. Can recommend this.

That's newer than what I have currently, any thoughts on the new iDrive version?

No, not yet.
Haven't had much time in the car as winter decided to come back here. :

No worries, just used ISTA+ to flash via ICOM Seems like there's a few more menu options for privacy, and seems to behave faster but could be placebo. Will wait a few more days and see.

Hello, need your advice. I went to dealership and they won't do this upgrade for me unless I pay $350. 2 hours. It's very disappointed because they can't detect the fault to trigger this upgrade. Would u help to advise how I can do by myself? SA said there is a file on website I can download. I assume it's different than here right?

Latest software flash today. From the list the tech showed me, around 10 or 11 modules were upgraded. The LCI dash was one, ASD was anotherand the weather/current location app was updated too. Cannot remember them all but will ask him to send me the list over at some point.
Car seems to have much smoother gear changes on my short drive home from the dealer |

Just had mine updated at the dealer yesterday. Car seems to shift smoother, but I definitely don't feel any more power.
Here's a before and after. I took a screenshot of the media screen and not the nav screen before the update. The nav screen is after the update.

i also had my car toned down although the sport cat and MPE has pretty much compensated for this, now i only hear pops and crackles when the valves are open on the MPE
has anyone been able to have their firmware "downgraded" i even offered to pay BMW but they wouldnt do it the smoothness is great but i would prefer the previous version... really wondering what the purpose of this was, maybe the amounts of fuel being dumped into the exhaust has a long term effect? |
