Because these failures are so rare car manufacturers have used that data and the push to save money, drop weight and make packaging easier as reasons to dump spares from many cars. These comfort kits are useless for all but the rarest of circumstances so I would not bet on them. Best thing to do is just call AAA or BMW roadside assistance through the SOS system, these days there aren't many areas that don't have coverage.
When I called they actually suggested I use the kit to put air in if it would hold air so I could drive some place rather than wait around for a flat bed. That's just one less random person messing with my car.

Hi, first post. I have a 2015 F30 328i. I'm seriously considering getting an F87 M2. I might trade in the F30 or keep it, haven't decided. But assuming I trade it, I'm wondering what if any items in my spare/jack kit would be usable on the M2.

I bought the spare and jack kit from Bimmerzone when I changed out the OEM run flats on the F30 for non-run flats. They have different kits for F30 and F87, at different prices so I guess something must be different. But does anybody know exactly how they are different or whether the F30 kit's wheel would actually not fit the M2? The basic tire spec seems to be the same 145/70-18.

I assume the jack is standard and I could at least keep that. True?

The spare tire/wheel that Bimmerzone sells is an 18”. It is not hub-centric, but includes two centering rings. They also include a 10mm spacer and longer lug bolts.

You mean the one for F87 M2? My F30 spare from Bimmerzone is also 18", same tire spec. It came with a centering ring (not two), no spacers.

On the F87, the spacer is needed to clear the front brake caliper.

Thanks. I also emailed Bimmerzone and they said same: you need to buy the spacer and longer bolts to use their F30 kit on an F87, otherwise it works.

Just bought and test fitted the Bimmerzone spacesaver spare tire.. Fits well and, even though a spacer was included, when I called him up, he said it wouldnt be needed on the M2.. After test fitting, I can confirm, while its close as F to the calipur, it didnt rub when rotated.

Are you talking about the large aluminum spacer that goes on the front, or the small blue hub spacers that are included? I haven't done a test run yet, but I was under the impression that the aluminum spacer was required on the front but not the back.

QQ.....

I bought the space saver spare for my M240xi (link here: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1404495 )

I have my 2019 M2C on order. I thought I read the brakes are larger than on previous models and as such require 19" wheels to clear the caliper.

Thus the space saver spare I had for my M240xi would not work on the 2019 M2C (only comes in 18").

Anyone confirm that? I'm also one that feels a true spare (especially on long road trips) is worth the insurance than the fix-a-flat kit.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

The large aluminum spacer for the front. I test fitted a front, spun it around while up in the air, and it seemed to just clear.

Those blue 'small hub spacers' are similar to wheel centering rings not too dissimilar to those that come with most tire rack wheels, although those are usually aluminum. I test fitted without those and I didnt feel any play, however when I called them, it was recommended that we slip those on the hub prior to mounting. Theyre colored blue so we dont forget to take them the F off before remounting our summer wheels!

Its a nice package, well done.

Im pretty sure you're correct. I was told my 18" Apex winter setup would NOT work on the M2C due to the calipers, and those are very big barreled wheels, so Im pretty sure bimmerzone space saver spare wont do it.

Recently bought this for a road trip and wow, it is HEAVY. I guess I didnt expect it to weight as much as an extra person in the car. Ugh....
