allocation type
After looking at these post, I believe the allocations are given on a quarterly basis, not monthly.
Anyone disagree? Also seems like dealer gets the M2 allocations 1-2 weeks after the allocations for other models are given out. |

That SA is lying - there's an ED price for the M2 (on BMW USA website) that is 5% off the base MSRP. Sounds like your dealer just doesn't want to honor it.

BMW allocations definitely come out quarterly - not sure who/where ever said it was monthly. As for M2 allocations coming out after other models, I doubt that but really don't know for sure.

Anybody have an idea for cut the off week number to ensure delivery before the end of the year? I know its all an estimate but would be helpful.
Thanks! |

As you're on the west coast, you need 6 to 7 (probably 7) weeks to get from production-complete to delivery. So 52 - 7 = 45. So I'd say Week 45 or earlier build if you want it delivered on west coast before end of 2017. Week 46 if everything went perfectly.

Thanks guys for the response. I guess I should've been more specific. I meant are there anyone that just got a confirmation during October that they will be getting an allocation. Not necessary build week in October, but just got notified that they will get an allocation from this quarter's newly released allocations. |

M2 allocations have been issued quarterly in early March, June, September, and December. The people announcing their build weeks in this thread have received their production number from the September round of allocations.

If you're right, then I'm surprised that it took a whole month for the allocation to be snapped up by me, and at MSRP as well, which in CA is not the usual case.

So my CA tells me they got an allocation for me, but it will be a few months before the car is build. But they don't know exactly when and there is no build number or week. Also wants me to fill out a finance application even though I have financing lined up as where. Does all this sound legit?

The CA should be able to give you a production number if you really have an allocation. They go hand in hand. Sounds like the CA has yet to secure your allocation. Now a VIN won't be available until there is actually a car scheduled to be built. |
