Just bought myself a 2018 M2 and are interested in buying new kidney grilles in Carbon.

I found em on INDs site but can't seem to find any pictures of them installed. If anyone has some it would be appreciated.

Yep. Installed them myself. Total PITA for one of the grills, but the other comes off easy enough. Should really be a tool for that, but it's not impossible.

Just my opinion. No need to cry about it. I don't think CF grills looks good with the black slats. Black grills look best IMO. But Hey...it's your car. Do what you want.

Yea I really wanted carbon to work but that area is too busy with the slats for carbon to work on LBB for me personally.

Yea I really hope Carbon works too as everyone seems to go for the black ones sadly. But the few pictures I've seen the carbon grill looks more grayish and not "black".

If they are darker I think it will look great but not otherwise.

But often ordinary photos don't represent "reality" very good. The LBB color for example looks "ordinary blue" in 95% of the pictures iv'e seen and in reality it does look a lot better with some green in it maybe even some turquoise. As a photographer I know some colors throws the cameras white balance off course.

So I really want to know how the carbon grille looks before I buy it

I recommend glossy black ...but at the end it's your choice enjoy your choice !

Yea black looks really good..... was just hoping for something different like carbon =).

I managed to get some better pictures in the sunlight. I'll post them here too. I had the same worry that it would be too busy, but I liked the idea enough to make the purchase and I'm very glad I did. Definitely different and I plan to complement it eventually with the rest of the carbon fiber bits.

Here's how it looks on my BSM. I understand that it's not for everyone's taste but I have the full carbon kit on so it comes out perfectly imo.

If the carbon looks like the M-performance side mirrors and rear diffusor the front should work together with the other stuff....well well.....decisions decisions decisions...... =)

By the way, mrmjk where did you get yours from?

I thought as much but the other pieces are solid carbon without other bits that are another material. The kidney grill surrounds look busy because outside the kidney surround is a different look, the paint, and inside is a different look, several black slats with gaps, and the carbon now frames that drawing attention to it. The mirrors is just a solid piece of carbon that then sits on a solid black base.

Congrats on your new purchase!

Side by side with their gloss black counterpart, the carbon kidney grilles are still quite dark, but certainly under a different light, its "grey" characteristics do come out (as pictured above) but that's really the nature of carbon.

I got the full carbon pack from Carbonara racing. Top quality carbon for a super low price. Hate the overpriced items from M Performance

BSM but I love the look. From IND, a pain to install but worth it.

Sorry I dont have any shots of CF on LBB. but I have some similar shots! You could use your imagination to piece them together.. or photoshop if you have it
