That's pretty cool. I may get a pair. I don't think they're that expensive.

I ordered them for my M2, which is on it's way...

Did you read any of the subsequent posts?

The front left tire was low on air...so the car repeatedly reverted to comfort mode.

This behavior isn’t consistent with how my F80 reacts to low tire pressure...so now you can STFU.

The M2 is at a much lower price point than the F80 ZCP so I'm not sure the many comparisons you made are relevant. That said the fact you're considering the M2 after the F80 which in reality is a step down says a lot about the greatness of the M2. Incidentally an M2 with MPE will blow your face off. Anyone who says otherwise isn't telling the truth.

It appears that I thought I was moving the car into Sport +, but the M2 will NOT allow you out of Comfort when the tire light is on. According to the BMW Genius, this change was made for the M2 for 2017 and 2018 cars.

I told him that this was definitely not the case for the F80, and he said it was an M2 specific change...just thought you all might be interested in that or know more than he was telling me.
It's these added nonsensical nannies that make my desire for an M2 fade.

You have no idea how many of them there are and BMW Keeps adding more.

http://www.onelapx1.com/blog/how-to-...w-actually-fun

My E82 1M has none of these tire pressure nannies at all other than a blinking light when the TPMS is not active. The M2 will not allow the car to go into sport modes if Tire pressure is too low ... and of course others have already noticed that when you lower tires to go on track you have to recalibrate the system ( oh and also turn off the collision avoidance ) so that the car doesn't go into panic mode after seeing the pressures rise too much during a session.

The car will take away fun if the tire pressures are too low OR too high.

STFU? No, I don't think I will. And yes I read the rest of the thread.

Just look at Chris Harris' M2 evaluation on YouTube. I think he does it justice.
And he must have had the tires inflated and Sport Mode operational.

I was just messing with you.

The joke was on me because I criticized the car for certain behaviors that are characteristic of the M2 in comfort mode. I had no idea that the car would default to comfort if the tire light was on...so I will drive it again soon with that remedied.

The comparisons to the F80 are thoughts I had because it’s my current car - but I was test driving the M2 because I’d never had the chance to drive one, and I was interested in it for my pops.

But I’m also thinking the M2 Comp might be my next car, so I wanted to see how the original felt.

Just to clarify a bit here.. while engines tend to loosen up and gain more power with miles, there is no change in power output after the run in service - it's one of those myths today (plenty of people have said their car feels faster afterwards, but the dealer does nothing short of changing the fluids and enabling launch control).

I personally just hope my manual trans gets less notchy (going to ask for the trans fluid to be changed - I don't think they do that anymore however).

Actually identifying the tire inflation issue is a pretty good find. Tire inflation fluctuates so much. Wonder if there is a fix for that problem. Other than inflating the tire.

Reset tire pressure in iDrive might fix it.

Got to drive the M2 quite a few times again over the last couple of days, right after the 1200 mile service, and I have some additional thoughts to supplement the original list:

The car does sound really good, especially when warm and in Sport +. I think the tone is a little higher than my F80, and needs to be a little louder if it were my car, but it’s really nice.

The car definitely feels fast and has a lot of grunt - and it didn’t have any trouble hooking up with the pavement. It’s a push the gas and boom...you’re gone. I still think the F80 feels faster, but the difference is much smaller than my original test drive led me to believe.

The DCT is also very snappy and quick in Sport +, much better than what I had experienced previously whilst in Comfort mode. It would be nice to have the adjustability of the M3, but it’s not that big of a deal - just slightly less “punch” if that makes sense, but still very good.

Needless to say, the car is awesome. It looks so good and I am really missing the smaller car feeling when I get back in the M3. As long as the Comp sticks with the same basic formula, with a few nice tweaks, it will be my next car.
