I am trying to order a 2016 M2 knee pad with the polar blue stitching, to match my shifter and e-brake boot, however, the BMW parts department is telling me that this version is only available in Europe. As far as I remember, the 2016 US F87 M2 did indeed come with the polar blue stitching, if I am not mistaken. Can anyone with a US version 2016 F87 M2 confirm that they do have a blue stitching on the knee pad. Thanx in advance!

Thank you for your response. My question has been answer, apparently BMW is still selling this under the same original part number (and price) but now they do not have the blue contrast stitching... weird.. and sucks but apparently the result of cost cutting, one would assume..

I failed to update the thread here. it's the same part number but for some reason no longer ships with blue stitching. I haven't checked if the euro part number is different. Feel like it's a bit of a crap shoot at this point either way.
edit; to clarify I grabbed the older p/n off real OEM and it came black. Not sure if euro part is different.

why would they ditch nicely touched knee pad with polar blue stitching... I have MY18 and was surprised that it was not stitched.
It is not a deal-breaker for me so did not even bother to order a piece with the right stitching but just dont understand BMW is downgrading parts even their price is still going up in the same model. It would not cost them $100s of dollars to get this piece stitched.. Sometimes dont understand.. |

Stitching is more or less just cosmetic thing that ppl want to have. It would be nice to have it in mine as well but my knee does not touch anywhere around that thing either. It would be nice to have it matching the general interior but not a big deal i can live with just no stitching pad.

I can't imagine who would benefit from such a short knee pad. BimmerMasterpieces http://www.bimmermasterpieces.com/screen/product/mfzcyx has an upgrade that extends further towards the seat. I was thinking on getting theirs but wanted to see fitment and possible install advise from someone who actually did the mod.

Wow I didn't know that BMW switched to an all-black version. Kind of disappointing...the Polar Blue stitch was a nice touch there.
sunil_linus We can source this for you if you like...shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Working here I can definitely attest that this image is the truth. My cars don't end up staying stock for very long.

The blue stitching pad looks sleek. Is it easy to replace the pad? Any instructions available?
