We are slowly putting together the image of the Competition at launch. We now also know that the optional seats are the M3 CP seats.

There hasn’t been any confirmation that the optional M seats are the M3 Competition Package M seats. Artemis posted that the M seat option code for the M2 Competition is 712.When you look up the options on an M3 Competition Package car on BimMer.Work,WBS8M9C5XJ5J79616.there is no listing for the option code 712.Based on the images that were posted, they could just be the regular M3 M seats.

Makes sense. 👍🏼 But I’m saying it will be M3 CP seats. Volume limitation of these seats at the start of production will mean not all will be specced with the optional seats.

Don't forget a big design factor is to tick the box's of Euro ncap, if you notice cars get bigger over the years. One of the Euro factors is the distance from the seat to the door, if the M3/4 seat is larger and it reduces the Euro ncap would they use it .

I don't know if they are bigger but if they are, do Bmw want to reduce there Euro nacp

New seat design, would this be cost effective?

Use the same seats with a different design and more luxurious leather .

Just to clear this up: regular (with a little twist), not the ZCP.

That's how the M2 M Sports Seats (option 712) could be.

Bring on the competition model! I am getting really excited about this car after spending a lot of time in my dad's M2 over the weekend.

Do we know when in April that the car will be formally announced?

Good point. Wasn't the whole crooked seat issue a result of massaging the seat in to fit that minimum distance? Or was that otherwise resolved?

Yep, we will see, we had an M3 as a courtesy car when ours went in for the run in service and the seats do look a lot bulkier and wider

Do we know if the M3 seats will be offered in cloth (Sensatec I think?) - because that would be awesome. I know most folks would like a leather that's better than Dakota, but the cloth option in the M3 is also nice.

It's really nice - the first thing people notice when you pop the hood.

That exhaust backbox is huge.
It'll definitely need an aftermarket solution.
