Aussie deliveries?

So the lockdown on the M2 finally comes off this Saturday. My dealer is not doing anything special (at least, not that I was invited to) but the car will finally be on the floor.

Can't wait to see LBB in the flesh.

Is anyone taking delivery in Australia now or are all the first cars for the dealers for show and test drives?

My dealership is not doing anything special either for the release, car will be on the showroom floor and available for test drives Saturday.

I do know of one other car that is here for a customer, i believe they will take delivery sometime next week.

Popped in to Sylvania BMW today to check out the M2. No test drives as they have already sold their dealership car. No more until 2017 apparently.
Interestingly the salesman said their were 1000 cars allocated for Australia and a production run of 1.5 years.
The LBB is a very nice colour as is the M2.

I think I enquired in October and then put down a deposit as soon as pricing was released in Australia.

Sounds exactly like me, I placed an expression deposit of $1000 in October @ BMW Sydney, then made the official order on December 10th.

But my car is arriving in September.

I ordered January this year, originally had an April build slot but that got bumped up to March due to someone wanting a new financial year delivery.

Confirmed on the weekend that my build date is October and then the uncertain shipping to delivery time.

Saw LBB on launch day and I am taking a test drive this morning.

The colour really popped with the lighting they used. sadly the wife still hates blue. On display with a couple of other older turbos including a superb LHD 2002

Wonder how many more orders were placed on the weekend? It looks like the wait here will be until at least mid 2017 already.

There is already one M2 on Carsales for well over list price.

DCT blue - I have a DCT now in a 135 and its been faultless for 185ks.

Would have worn out 3 clutches in a manual even though i love stick and the DCT is just quicker.

I went remote and found one. 2 hr plane trip and 20hr drive home.

Just found this vid. Pleased with the result

Wow Koastal, you have done well to score a car so fast.

I signed and paid in Feb and an October (build not delivery) was the earliest I could secure here.

My dealer said that on the Friday before the launch they were already out to Feb next year for a build date.

20 hour drive home is a good shake down. I bought my Exige interstate and drove home the long way along the Great Ocean Road.
