Almost complete with my personal M2 CS build - how I would have done it if I were the M division boss. Basically a street/racetrack car that can go seamlessly from one to the other. Safety, reliability, improvements in handling/track worthiness.

Mods:
Dinan FMIC
BMW M4 GTS Euro CF seats
CMS roll bar
Rear seat delete trim kit
M235 racing fire extinguisher kit
Schroth harnesses (6pt)
HANS
Vorschlag camber plates
Ohlins R&T coilover suspension
Michelin SC2 tires ( second set 437 M)

More photos coming

Very nice. Love seeing posts like this.
Do you have a pic on the location of the fire extinguisher?
Is it a BMW item?

This is awesome. Very nice job! Pretty much what I'd like to do with my m240i if I end up doing 3 or more track days per year.

A few questions:

1. Is the rear seat delete trim kit the only of its type on the market? Anyone know if this is the same kit used on the M2 art car featured in this year's Chicago International Auto Show (the one with the USA flag art wrap)???

2. Where the heck did you manage to get the M4 GTS buckets and what did they cost? One of my biggest gripes with BMW (and Porsche for that matter) is they make it so hard and expensive to get proper factory bucket seats in their cars.

Good stuff all around, gsrbri!

The Ohlins are my favorite part! How much did they run you? Have you tested them on the street yet?

It weighed 3351 (w/Dinan intercooler which is about 6 lbs over stock) before mods and approx 1/2 tank fuel. I truly expected to lose weight vs gain weight but it's a very beefy roll bar. I need to get the weight of the bar from CMS.

1) I believe BMW makes a factory delete kit for the 235 race car. This kit is a copy of that from competition motorsport. It's good quality and fit quite well.

2) The M4 GTS euro buckets are hard to get. I think I got one of the last sets available from Germany through IND Distribution. My guess is they will keep producing them, though. So maybe availability will improve. But not sure. They are very expensive, but I really wanted a factory, bolt-in seat.

That's like 150 lbs lighter than a U.S. spec 6MT. What am I overlooking/missing?

Edit: just looked up the "curb" weight per C&D...3415 6MT/3509 DCT

A gallon of fuel is 6.3 lbs - so add another 50 lbs if the tank is full. Factory curb weight is usually highly conservative, so I'd stick with actual weight.

These weights were measured by calibrated corner weight scales, so should be accurate.

I trust your scales and appreciate your posting of the weights. The M2 is lighter than many people think. Not Cayman light but significantly lighter than F80/82.

There're highway toll gates with scale that every car need to go thru. They use it to control vehicle overload.

My M2 (with moonroof, a standard equipment in my market) once weighed some 1.6T on scale. It means in the range of 1600~1650kg. At the time, there were one driver (me=75kg) and half a tank gas. So the car without driver should be 1525~1575kg (3355~3465lbs).
