Noticed that too recently: see this post.

In May 2017 I posted the picture below (that had surfaced in Germany) of an instrument cluster with the same font. With what we know now, back then, we were looking apparently at the instrument cluster of an M2 Competition (or something even more spicy) instead of the one of an M2 LCI:

Interesting the stop/start button is not red there.

Killer job man! Beautiful shots and some really good insight. This is really the car to drive...almost the GT4/TT-RS for BMW.

M Seats, S55 converstion and a few extra goodies...this will NOT be a $5,000 ZCP package. Exciting to see BMW step into this arena!

Oh really? Please enlighten us! How much will it cost? $10K? $15K? What about $20K? That sounds more like it, doesn't it? Lol.

Didn't mean to burst your bubble sorry!

Edit: In all seriousness, I wasn't trying to target you with my cheesy sarcasm so don't take it personal. I just couldn't resist after seeing "it will NOT cost $5K" since there are still quite a few members who think the base price of M2 Comp will cost more than a base M4. Based on the price increase in UK market and the fact that it's officially confirmed that it will cost less than an M4, I think the price increase will not be as dramatic as many think here.

About £2,545 more expensive in the UK for the 6 speed.

It's all good.

The world will know the price shortly - but either way I find it amazing that it will be lower than a Base M4...the amount of additional R&D associated with the seat swap, engine swap and getting everything to work with the new powerplant isn't cheap.

I wouldn't be surprised if BMW was asking $70k for an M2 ZCP with an S55. I get that it would surpass the M3/4 class in terms of pricing - but they can almost make this fit within it's own class as a true "track car" to compete against the TT-RS or even the GT4.

The market would be happy to support an M2 like this...

Based on the pictures of the M2C (which is all I've seen), I think I prefer the front end of the current M2. The M2C looks a bit wider, maybe a bit more sleek. But I like the slightly taller, bulldog looking front end of the M2. And the kidney grills, along with the rest of the air grills, seem better proportioned on the current M2. Anyone else? Maybe I'm just wearing beer goggles...

I reserve judgement until I see it in person. In any case, I'll be living with the new look :-)

Frank Van Meel already announced that the price would be above the current M2 and below the base M4, and specifically stated that it will be not much more than the current M2.

Maybe I wasn't clear. In the UK the price of the M2 Competition has been announced and is about £2,545/$3,550 more than the M2 with the 6MT.

People are so quick to judge - myself included.

I think I love HKS - it looks awesome in the "new" pictures.

Similarly, I didn't initially like the 666M wheels...now I love them - but they must be clean and the tires must be dressed. So, seeing these kinds of things in person really matters.

It would be interesting to compare this pic to the new M2C, and determine if there are any obvious differences.

The seats

The sport seats looks like manual seat in the pic. Does that mean that US market gets manual seats?? I know European market usually have a choice of manual seat, but not the US market. Any thoughts on that???

I love the whole car except for the giant exhaust muffler, I am the only one who hates that an excellent car in all aspects seems to go with the cracked diaper?

Mr, can the current performance exaust be mounted in the competition? Or will we have to wait for a new one?

I will! Same way I enjoyed my M4 Comp while waiting for the M2 with S55, I'll be enjoying my M2C while waiting for M2 CS or next gen M2 with S58.

Once you start adding options it will soon become £58-£60k, mine will be £60k specced, roughly.
