Best Way I Could Think Of to Finish Up the Break-In Period
I had about 400 miles or so to go on my 1200 mile initial break-in, and our weather has been ridiculously nice. Since I didn't have to work today, I figured it'd be fun to go drive some of my area favorites over along the border and into eastern Oregon. Forecast was pretty good - dry and warm, so I figured the roads wouldn't be too bad.
However, just when I got to the really good parts the roads were still quite wet from rain last night, and there was some fog too. Made for some interesting photos, and the car was absolutely brilliant through corners - wet or dry. I just hated that my baby was getting all filthy and hammered with dirt and gravel here and there. Still, I bought it to drive, not to show, so oh well. SO MUCH FUN!! An amazing day, and I continue to be incredibly impressed with this car. So easy to go fast in. Power is fantastic, brakes are unreal, and the corners are where it really shines. I just love it. A few pics from the ride. You'll see my beautiful baby get progressively dirtier and dirtier. It finally got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. At my halfway point (Baker City), I stopped for lunch - but had to make a stop somewhere else too. I'd given her a bath last night, knowing I'd want to shoot some pics today, but I wasn't expecting such wet and dirty roads. Oh well, made it a little better for the rest of the trip, at least. Of course, when I got home, she got a proper bath. That'd be three baths in 24 hours. A great day! And now it's time to change the oil and the other break-in service, then hit the high revs! I just love this car, couldn't be happier. |

Those are some grade A photos, man.
P.S.: That front license plate is bothering me, lol. Move it up a few inches

Those are some stellar pictures! I think I'll use some of them as wallpaper, they look amazing!
I'm going to look for some scenic spots around here and maybe fill out my album, too! |

Great idea for the final break-in miles. Must have been hard not to rev it out on such a great drive.
Terrific looking pictures. They look ad quality and almost cgi if you know what I mean. Don’t be surprised when BMW comes asking to use them. |

I’m in CA and have run my cars without the front plate for years although CA officially requires it.
