I could do with just a rear diffuser and exhaust that look like the quad ports on this M2 for the M235i :P

The front bumper looks different now than it did earlier on! Looks interesting. Can't wait to see it without camo

If you look at the camo car, the front bumper air curtain/intake area is really covered up. But you can see the crease in the bumper where it all starts. Looking carefully you do see that like in this game render, it begins above the beltline of the bumper.

I think those who look and see the small "intakes/lower grill" will be mislead. It actually starts much higher and is actually almost twice a large an area. They see a small opening and little teeth sticking out. But again if you look closely much of it is taped up to make it appear smaller and more flush than it really is.

I think the front will look fantastic, showing two highly emphasized "scoops" for the air curtain/brake cooler.

The roof on the white M2 in previous shoots was with moonroof. But this red M2 has no moonroof. Is it a sign for a CF roof? Hope it will have a CF roof.

Kinda sad they offered them and most opted for heavier seats with less headroom!

I'm dissapointed how soft the M235i and 228i M-Sport are and it looks like the 1M is leaning more than the 1M. I wonder if they are softening it also?

M division should be renamed "Slim-Fast division."

The M car I've been waiting for. Small, nimble. Not bloated and boat-like.

Couldn't agree more with you, that is dog d%#k ugly, and typical of Nissan overkill.

Having said that, the spy pics reveal a car that is going to be sensational, and may have moved back to the top of my list, above the RS3 and A45 Black.

M235i and 228iMSport may be 'soft' relative to the 1M or forthcoming M2 but they are definitely sportier than majority of 2ers. The step change from M235 to M2 would be similar to e82 135 to 1M, if not greater. You have been spoilt by the rawness of your 1M

I was extremely impressed with the M235 that I test drove in July. I might need to get on the list for one of these.

Any ideas when BMW plan to launch the M2?

Listening to the vid the sound is pretty disappointing, cant even hear the exhaust. RS3 has it all over BMW in that department, but hopefully a good aftermarket exhaust will help.

So if that's what you after, that's where you should be looking.
Whereas;
Driver's car: BMW>others
Track Ability: BMW>others
RWD: BMW>others
Fun Factor: BMW>others
Doesn't make you look like a complete unimaginative twat that only drives in straight lines: BMW>others
Drifting: BMW>others

The Mustang may be able to deliver a similar visceral experience, but couldn't forgo the all-round superiority of the BMW ///M Division for a shovel.
4WD and DSG is boring as %&*#! That is a FACT! Even when modded they feel boring, they just make more noise and the needle moves quicker.
"Aaah come for a ride, watch how quickly the needle moves"
Ya, I totally agree. It's the fun factor that reels me in. I could have chosen any German brand, but I've always loved BMW and those straight 6's.

Shit I even work for another manufacturer that on some level competes with BMW, but I still choose BMW as my fun toy.

As far as straight line stuff goes. That's fun until you goes up and realize what fun really is all about.

I had a straight line car, a 724HP kenne bell cobra. And it got old after a while. One thing over and over and over. "Look at my awesome drag time slips" "or awesome highway pulls" meh boring...
Refinement or there lack of, none to be had.

To me BMW=fun and refinement and fast enough in a straight. I'll picked them over Benz and Audi. Throw in the M division in the mix and there really is no looking back!

You already said it buddy "FUN".

The M2 looks very, very good in those last spy pics.

IMO M4 is now a redundant car in the BMW M line-up, as neither one nor another, as opposed to M2 and M6. More than that there are other more interesting alternatives than M4, namely C AMG and RC F, or even ATS-V.
The M2 will be a better car than the M4, even with its inferior engine, so what if it had S55? The M4 would be totally pointless.

In regards to sound, turbo just doesn't sound as good, but with Akrapovic, what the M2 will to 99% have, the problem of sound is "solved".

Yah Brother...all the new BMWs seem squishy now. I know they are going to do iDrive but I hope they offer a firm fixed suspension or an adjustable non-dymamic version. The kind that just stiffens without the dynamic part.

It should be Base and Sport....I am sick and tired of seeing COMFORT on M cars. They have 2 billion other comfy cars with in home movie theatres and Missile Command electronics, why not make a few sport cars for those that put driving dynamics at the top of their list?

I hope they get it right with the M2. There is hope. They dropped the silly M badge on the side of the 235i in the 2015 year! Maybe BMW is listening?
