What's the expected ETA for north American pricing? My 2018 hasn't arrived yet so there's still time for me but if the M2C is considerably more I will just stick with the 2018. UK pricing is pretty useless when trying to determine North American pricing in my experience.

you can get a digital oil temp gauge. see picture. from a 2018 m2.

Yea I know it is super weird that the Driver's Package is standard but I got that information from the Product Dossier that my dealer sent me so I guess it's "official" that the items I listed are standard in the new M2C IN SPAIN.

If you add all those options to the current M2 you get almost the same price but Sound System (676) is not standard anymore in the M2C.

I also want to see how the M2 is wearing Hockenheim Silver Metallic in real life (likely 'cool' in every sense of the word). Furthermore I'd like to hear how the detuned S55 engine and exhaust sound compared to the N55 howl and M2 M Performance Exhaust (g)rumble.

You know, I'm pleased with my M2 (I like it more than my M3 cars and like it as much as my 1M). Already clocked over 30K kms with my M2 (mostly Autobahn and mountain driving). And it's also no secret that I like Mineral Grey, a metallic color that - if we look at the test mule VINs - won't be available for the M2 Competition, unfortunately.

So, yes, I might wait awhile before ordering my fifth BMW M car. In the meantime I keep enjoying my M2 in the mountains.

The 1M is the 'favorite BMW M car of the past' of BMW M CEO Frank Van Meel (that's what he said in a CAR interview of December 2015: see here), so I trust that he's taking very good care of the BMW M heritage and bloodline. If he ever would read this post: build that hardcore M2. There's definitely a market for top shelf pocket rockets, a niche of powerful compact halo cars that also Porsche, Audi and Mercedes are actively venturing and tapping in to, with success. You can clearly feel that pulse when you read petrol head forums.
