I'd like to see BMW do more than this, like go completely 3.0 CSL bonkers on the style rather than just adding on CF bits from the parts bin.

I know right ?
Maybe the standard M4 could've been more like a ZCP with options for taking it up to CS levels. The LCI was inevitable.

ahhh...BMW and it's mysterious ways.

Maybe with a wider body shape, it will look more aggressive, like the true CSL

White or Fire Orange with the fixed rear spoiler form the Vision GT Car would have we paying out.

not a fan of the comp but if a CSL model looked like this I'd be over the moon excited about it. great render! Love it in almost every color.

You know what this means guys! Time to call everyone who put a deposit down on an M2C an idiot and start ridiculing the "old car" and it's future owners. Also make sure to point out how this newest theoretical car is the "real" M2 and how it's what bmw should have built from the beginning. And lastly, don't forget to talk about what a bath all the M2C owners are going to take financially and how you can't wait to own an M2CSL (even though you're not actually going to buy one)

I agree 100% with your points. It's basically the same story for people who are blaming the original M2 for not being a real M car, not having a real S-engine, not having stupid mirrors etc. M2 was already a great car from the get go and future M2C owners, including myself, should thank the outgoing M2 and its owners as M2C wouldn't have come to real life if the original M2 hadn't been this successful.I believe the success/failure of the M2C will play a role in the rumored M2 CS/L as well. However, M2 CS/L will most likely have a much higher price point than the M2C and most people won't be able to get one regardless how much they want it due to the rumored limited production.

Is the M2C not the "base" M2 from 2019 forward? If so I can't see the hopes of the CSL, even if/when confirmed playing a role in the success of the M2C.

Yes, M2C is now the base and only M2 available as of MY2019. I think I missed your point but what I was saying was if the original M2 wasn't a success, I don't think BMW would have come up with M2C. Similarly, if M2C happens to be just as successful (or more), I think there is a good chance BMW might release a more hard core, limited version such as CS or CSL towards the end of life of F87.

Throw a Roundel on the rear corner behind the window, BMW is doing that again these days.

There is a simple way to make an M2 CSL without stepping over the M3/4 toes. Make it strictly a 2 seater with rollcage.

Then BMW can go on saying that a hardcore track special doesn’t compete with anything else in their M lineup, and it actually wouldn’t.

But if they ask Cayman GT4 money for it, it will suffer the same fate as the M4 GTS - not loved by the press, ignored by most track junkies, not the next hot tamale to crush the Porsche dominance.

You got it! I was just saying the M2C will be very successful. Enjoy yours. I think if(when, and I hope the MOTOGP pace car paves the way for it)the CSL comes out it would be an addition for me while still keeping the M2C. Much like my M4 And M4GTS.

I did this CSL as an easy upgrade with parts available from BMW... Of course I could have done crazier design but it would not be too realistic production wise...

I'm thinking about doing something about the side air intakes though in the next round of renders...

Here's a crazier render I've done in the past...
