I contacted pretty much every dealer in Northern Cali to see if they would do ED on a M2 last year and I couldn't find one that would. I found 2 that would sell a M2 at MSRP out of all of them. With the competition edition, I'd think you'd be lucky to get one any way you could, so getting a dealer to go through the headache of arranging ED when they already have a waiting list of people that will pay $6-10K over MSRP the moment one arrives on the lot ...

I don't think we are in the same situation as when the M2 first came out. Many people that wanted it have already bought one. I think MSRP is what we're looking at for price. Many people have already been able to get a promised allocation at ED MSRP. The proof is in the pudding though...we'll see how it all pans out soon.

The word from BMW NA is that the M2 competition is not available for ED, only domestic delivery

Not surprising given that dealers make more on domestic deliveries. Probably will change in six to twelve months after initial demand dies down.

Where'd this come from? Local dealer? Or corporate?

Well I hope that you're wrong since there are several of us in this forum that have signed contracts and deposits taken for M2 Comp ED.

There have been many documented M2 European Deliveries. There is really no reason to believe that this car will be any different.

Totally makes no sense that BMW would not allow it.... It's not that special of a car. Now I agree it may take some effort to find a dealer that will do it when the car is first available, but as the hype dies down it should be pretty normal.

Yeah I don’t believe it.

Even I saw posts of bmw M4 GTS doing European Deliveries.

Maybe this has something to do that M2c deliveries will happen first for the USA market? But even then it doesn’t make sense.

Special doesn't matter. I believe you can do ED of any ordered BMW vehicle, assuming it is actually made in Germany (not X series)

Not disagreeing with you at all. In fact, I totally agree with you. fcmaras is the one who stated BMW NA was not going to permit ED of the M2.

That's my understanding as well - I've never heard of BMW NA saying you can't do ED for any BMW built in Germany, and I can't think of any reason why they would ever make such an edict.

Not true. Have multiple deposits down for ED. May not be in the first batch but we will see when more details arise.

I have a deposit down for ED for an M2c (in writing with pricing) and they specifically told me that #1 allocation they cannot allow for ED. #2 and on they allow for ED. So I might skip No. 1 allocation and go for No. 2 so I can do an ED.

I'd like to ask if this is ED pricing with discount or if it's purchasing at MSRP from the dealer's allocation but you're picking up in Germany. Thanks!

Would someone who has managed to secure ED at MSRP be willing to share their dealer information with me? I don't mind what part of the country, but California or Tristate area would be preferable. The dealers I have contacted around New York have short waiting lists however none so far have been able/willing to do European Delivery.

I bought from a dealer in Texas (M2 ED for ED MSRP - saved $2675) and my local dealer was ok with courtesy delivery. PM me if you want contact info.
