What brand spacers did you have issues with?

Hey all, I've been following this thread and it seems like the safest bet is to go with the Turner motorsports spacers with integrated hub extender. I'm planning on running 12mm front 10 mm rear like many people on this thread.

I'm on the Turner motorsports website, I can't seem to find a 12mm or 12.5mm version with an integrated hub extender. Only a 10mm version exists.

@ people who are running 12(f) and 10(r), do only your rear 10mm spacers have the integrated hub extender?

Thanks

Nope. Both fronts and rears have the extender with that combination. Or at least they did 5-6 months ago. Call Turner directly. Their website is not always accurate, but the sales guys are knowledgeable.

I'm a bit of a noob, so I'm just wondering:

What makes Turner's spacers with the integrated hub extender special? Is it just another fancy way of saying that they're hubcentric? If yes, doesn't this mean they're pretty much the same as H&R Trak+ wheel spacers?

Thanks

I'm planning to opt for the H&R 10mm all around spacers.

Any feedback pls? From those who have followed this setup?

Thanks

^ same question

Since the stock hub lip is 12mm, @ people who are running 10mm spacers, do your spacers sit flush against the brake hat or is there a 1 or 2 mm gap? I've just e-mailed someone at Turner motorsports and they said that the 10mm spacers "will most likely not work"

I'm not sure if lack of vibration is an indication that things sit flush, so keen to hear from anyone who installed their spacers or watched the mechanic do it and eyeballed the process.

Would appreciate if repliers also give info about what brand they are using.

Switched to 15s all around because i felt it was not aggressive enough. Now i love it.

I wanted the top portion of the wheels to be flush with the fenders, and now they are.

The middle and bottom do start to poke because of the slight camber but that's the look i want.

When you are standing up looking at the car it looks much different then when you bend down so keep that in mind.

If you do not want any part of the tire to stick out whatsoever then a 12/10 is probably what you want.

If your car is super low i wouldn't go past a 12/12 for fear of rubbing, unless you've got camber plates.

You can sit here asking for advice all you want but everyone's preferences and set ups are different.

Just buy a set and try them and then you can decide if you need to adjust. If you do, just sell the old one's on the forum.

I bought mine from Burger Motorsports. They are wheel and hub centric.

my vote is 10mm in the rear.

for the front, you should consider what type of camber setting you are running and suspension heights. i run low and lots of camber greater than -3 deg up front. this means i need a 15mm spacer and it looks just right. stock settings, 12mm spacer should be fine.

I'm gonna go stock with the cambers.

Just lowering the car with eibach proline springs.

Will try H&R 10mm all around.

See how it goes!

When you had the 10mm spacers fitted in the rear, was there any gaps in between?

gaps in between what? the tires and the fender? a little, yeah. I think a 12 in the rear is a better option if you want it to look flush.

Yes, you have to get extended bolts. Most spacers should come with them or you can buy them separately

I think we're referring whether there's a gap between the spacer itself and the brake hat (visible only during installation). It's important that the spacer sits flush against the brake hat, and theoretically 10mm spacers could run into issues of not being able to sit flush.

Oh whoops, didn't see that part of the thread, i just assumed people wanted to see what the fitment would look like.

I didn't do my install myself so i can't answer that unfortunately. I can say though that i didn't experience any issues while running a 12/10 from burger tuning. No vibrations or anything. I have 15s now luckily so i don't have to lose sleep over this being a potential problem.

If you really want 10mm spacers just buy the Turner one's with the integrated hub lip extenders. Looks like they're the best option.

Cheers!

The thing is, the integrated hub lip extender is to ensure the wheel has enough of a lip to mount onto. What we're worried about is the flat side that sits flush against the brake hat.

Anyway, I've ordered turner 12.5mm and 10mms, I will update this thread when I install them and get to eyeball what fitment is like.

Fitted Turner Motorsport 12.5mm front, 10mm rear spacers today.

Can confirm both spacer sizes sit flush against the brake hat no problem, and also sits flush into the wheel hub!

Feel free to purchase TMS spacers with 100% confidence.

I wanted to chime in that not all spacers are created equally. I've had 11 BMWs all with spacers. The best in my experience are Turner Motorsport followed closely by Apex. Both are solid. Honestly wouldn't bother with anything else especially not H&R. A good spacer is lightweight, hub centric, with chamfered edges for easy removal. I also appreciate when the bolt pattern is drilled specifically for the respective hub and not generic. Spacers thinner than 10mm ideally should have extended hub lips to ensure the elimination of vibration.

When you install, be sure to thoroughly clean the hub face and spacer. If you have a ton of buildup on the hub, take some medium steel wool and a drill to it to lightly remove. Add a little bit of nickel anti seize and you should be good to go.

If you're doing it I also recommend a 75mm stud conversion up to 12.5mm spacers. Definitely go with bullet nose and not the hex head design. These will make your life a lot easier and let you play with spacer sizes.

Macht Schnell Competition Spacers, without a doubt.

The majority of the M3/M4 owners are running them on the F80Post side. Spacers come complete with extended black Zinc-plated lugs, just like OEM.

On my 2015 I went with 12.5 Turners all the way around, I am thinking this is the route I may go with my PE. Longer bolts are a must, no question!

I know I am a bit late, but Rogue Engineering Spacers are fantastic. I have had no issues with them after 6 months of use and when switching my wheels out, I take the spacers on and off with no issues, no cracks, everything is in tact! They are made of 100% billet 6061-T6 aluminum round made in USA.

Here is an example of 12mm front and 10mm rear. No rubbing even when lowered.
