Speed limit displayed?

I was perusing Carsales as i tend to do and noticed an M2 advertised at a local dealership. One of the pictures was of the instrument panel and it shows a 50km/h speed limit sign on it. I didn't think we had this function in Australia or do we? If so how do we activate it?

Yeah found out it apparently is only on Nov 16 onwards production but just in case is there a setting somewhere that activates/deactivates this feature? Is it visible at all times or only when you are using the navigation?

My 2017 build 125i M Sport has that. I believe it is enabled by default in iDrive settings.

Once enabled, you use the "BC" button on the left control stalk to cycle through the displays (average fuel consumption, instantaneous fuel consumption, range, date etc)

I'll let you know when my M2 arrives. I expect it would be the same way.

Do you know what setting it's called in the idrive?
I have turned a few options off that are available through the BC button but it looks as though the earlier build dates definitely miss out on this feature.

Spot on.

Always on regardless of Nav. Dealer said they've coded it back-in. Don't think it's hardware related.

I was told that the software was buggy and it didn't read the signs correctly initially so they might have disabled it at first

Same thing I heard. Anyone know how to code it back on? Mine is a July 16 build.

I checked with the dealership and they confirmed with me it can't just be coded on to cars built prior to Nov. I believe there is an additional module required for it to work.

If you can prove them wrong and get it to work please let me know.
