Sorry to hear that. Major annoying. I am just boarded on my flight back east...pickup tomorrow. Photos may be delayed while traveling and likely most will be in separate thread which I will link.

Auggiem3, have you picked up yours yet? Mine was on the same boat and it’s supposed to arrive at the dealership Monday. Mine will get trucked across country to me, so I may see it by Christmas, perhaps a little later...

It's at the dealer and ready for pickup...and my family is in a tight isolation so we can see some high risk family members next week. Probably will pick it up on Thursday.

I called Genius since the car hit port on the 3rd. I asked about the delay. He said he didn't have any info so I asked if it was possible that it was undergoing repairs at the VPC. He shared something I thought was interesting - he said that he would see a work order for repairs assigned to the production number and there wasn't one. Relieved but also found it interesting that you could potentially find out about in port repairs if you ask about completed, in process or pending work orders (for non port installed options of course). |

The big one though was the rock that went right through the clear on the driver side headlight! It's like when you fall and have road rash on your palms and the skin is like a flap you can push back down but you really want to just rip it off. Thankfully, though the lens is probably chipped, it does not appear to be cracked. Then, below that, on the splitter, a rock must have hit so hard because the clear is still on, but the rock chip is there and the paint is shifted in the smudge/chip as it would be in a normal rock chip scenario. Then there's one decent windshield chip and some very minor ones. Pretty sure all of this came from the stretch between Lafayette, LA and San Antonio, TX. Couldn't believe all the shit and trucks spewing shit. At least in Europe, the trucks are all held to a uniform standard and they can just have gravel flying out. In any event, not terrible but a bit frustrating. The trip home was otherwise amazing and I'll have a write-up done hopefully over the next week. The photo selection and editing will be difficult.

And the delivery journey is done.
Years of debate, a 12.21.19 deposit, a May 2020 European Delivery delayed and ultimately foiled by covid. Nice to finally have it! Last edited by auggiem3; 12-30-2020 at 07:19 PM.. |

Congrats! I think you may have been the last who previously planned ED to have this delivered. Regardless of where you had it delivered, it is a fantastic car and I hope it brings you a smile every time you drive it!
