763Ms bundled into my sale?
I am having a back and forth with my dealer about wheels while my car sits in 112 status. I want them to bundle in a spare set of wheels with winter tires. I have asked them to mount winter tires on the 788Ms the car comes with and put 763Ms with performance tires on it for delivery. He seems reluctant, and claimed 763s "were just for the M3/4". Should I push him or back down and try to score 763s after the fact? Am I crazy for wanting them to do this? Has anyone else tried something similar? I'd rather not have to drop several thousand after already buying the car to get the wheels I want but also don't want to be too unreasonable or difficult to deal with. Thanks!

If I understand your situation correctly… A spare set of wheels and tires thrown in for free is a HUGE ask. If you are simply trying to add them and the cost to the order/financing, I would think they’d be happy to accommodate you.

I hope you are trying to add the cost into your financing. That's a $5,200.00+ ask.
They are not for the M3/4/M2CS only. They've been part of the M Performance line since 2016 or 2017? Maybe they are just having trouble sourcing them, or they are misinformed. |

Just think about it from the other side's perspective - wouldn't you be pissed off if after you signed the build sheet and put in the order, the dealer tried to squeeze another $5,000 out of you?

I got my 763M wheels as part of the initial sale for a decent discount off retail, and included in the financing. It wasn’t an issue at all for my dealer. Assuming you’re not asking them to throw the wheels in for free, I can’t see why they’d have a problem with it.

Either way, it doesn't hurt to ask. I assure you the dealers cost is not $5000+, so if you are trying to do 1) then its like asking him for a $3500 discount. If you are doing 2) then good luck, and if 3) then he should be happy to add that to the sale |

If you've got some free sympathy and/or empathy, maybe it should go elsewhere and not towards a dealer or salesman, unless they really went above and beyond to earn your business. You're the buyer, try to get whatever you can esp if you ordered late in the game and aren't getting any discounts on the car. |

Keep in mind the factory won't be able to do any of this. This will all have to be done by the dealer. Including putting winter tires on the 788M.

I'm not asking them to throw the wheels in for free, I want them bundled into my financing. A spare set of wheels was something I've talked to them about wanting from day one so it's not like I sprung a surprise on them. I have two issues/questions:
1) them not wanting to sell me the specific wheel I asked for, and how much to push back on them about wanting the 763s 2) wanting them to mount winter tires on the 788s, are they too wide? |

1) I dont know why they wouldn't do that besides laziness. I would push hard for them, and also ask for a deal on them and not full retail if you can 2) Mounting should be no problem, and BMW dealers usually sell a complete mounted set. With regard to width, it depends on the tire size, but if you stick to stock it should be no problem I have a feeling the dealer just wants to sell you the standard (ugly) winter wheel/tire sets they carry, and you are asking to customize your wheel/tire set, so they are being lazy. You should absolutely get what you want and push for them to do it. Ask the GM there why they wouldn't do this for you. |

OR
get a set of BC forged wheels for $3,500 and mount your summer tires on it Use your stock wheels for winter duty. Maybe its just me, but at least for the coin, you get a bit more of a "unique" look for your car that is more exciting to spend $$ on. |

Here's a link to the F87 specific part # along with a fairly reasonable retail price:

I should probably consider non OEM wheels, I was attracted to the 763s for 3 reasons: they look cool, I can theoretically bundle their cost into the vehicle financing, but mostly because they are lighter. Any aftermarket wheel I get would have to be lighter than the 788s. Is there a good thread on wheel weight? I started my own spreadsheet to compare BMW wheels but I haven't started looking at the after market. Also by way of update, my dealer agreed to do it but wants $6750 for a set of 763s, which seems expensive and makes me think I should just be patient and see what I can find either 2nd hand or in the aftermarket

Wish I had negotiating skills that good, they're not throwing anything in for free, I'd be paying for these. Sounds like you like your 763s, personally I love the look of them, clean, not overly aggressive, nicely shows off the brakes. Not to mention several pounds lighter per corner!

That being said I wouldn't trade in the 763 in the M2C though.

If you just want to buy the wheels, buying the CS version of the 763M is actually a bit cheaper than the Mperformance version (and you don't have that goofy Mperformance logo). The CS black wheels are gloss black instead of matte also.
Zeigler BMW of Orland Park runs BMW parts worldwide site and offers excellent discounts off BMWNA MSRP (better than others that do the same). Here is an example for the CS gloss black 763M: Front wheel at $797.36. Rear wheel at $871.88. So $3338.48 for the set. See the update by Artemis in this post where all the 763M part numbers (wheels only) are listed for reference. Another option, aftermarket, for a wheel that is within a few ounces of the 763M but a lot cheaper although an excellent quality wheel is the OZ Hyper GLT HT at $2045 for the set, shipped. They are identical widths and offsets as the stock/763M. I have a set for my track/autox tires.
