For MY2016 under the "Options" tab they used to list a few M Performance parts but never the MPE.
For MY2017 all the previous M Performance parts are missing/gone/nada. Most likely the dealer's configurator contains the M Performance parts including the MPE.

Ok cool! How much is it in the US? Here in Canada MPE (option ZX1) is $3,500 CAD.

Not sure, but I think it's 3K but without the tips. Perhaps someone else can chime in with more details.

Correct. Those prices are without tips. Earlier $3k was thrown around for just the exhaust, which is why I attached the links and quoted the request. IND forces you to buy both exhaust and tips ($900 titanium and $1300 CF), but ECS lets you order each part separately ($200/tip and $300/tip respectively). You don't "HAVE TO BUY" tips. The stock tips don't fit, but the "performance" tips don't actually do anything. One can put whatever tips they want on their car. I'd like CF ones, but ordering the system separate for way less than the dealer offers is a start for me. If you can get the exhaust for $2400 from your dealer, that's awesome.

Yep. Port install always costs more because they have to pay the install, storage, etc. Depending on how the installation is done, it becomes a wash.
For me, the price difference between port install and dealer with 20% discount was something like $800 for all the parts I wanted to get because I was going to have the dealer install them. At that price, there was no reason not to port install. Another thing that no one ever talks about is sales tax. Depending on your state, sales tax can add a lot. Buying from your dealer is at your sales tax rate and some states will require tax on labor as well. However, buying/registering a car in NC is subject to 3% use tax only and no sales tax. Port installed parts are considered part of cost of the vehicle so the difference is 5% essentially since sales tax is 8% where I live. |

Dumb question here but why do I want to get MPE on my M2? What am I getting out of it? I like a low growl as much as the next guy but it sounds pretty good stock. Is there any noticable performance bump?
