I'm not sure the source of the 369 number but automobile magazine basically says the engine is the same as the 340i. I'm assuming it will be the same 320/330 as the 340i. It's possible that BMW will give the 2 series a bit more like they currently do, but I'm guessing they just match the 340i numbers.

According to this article, the B58 is less tuneable than the N55.

The MY18 M2 LCI could very well get a B58 variant, as BMW in addition to adding power, aims to continually reduce emissions while improving fuel economy. Plus it makes financial sense.

You knew this would happen eventually; it's just natural progression. Cars get faster and more powerful every year. My 2010 E90 335 with a few bolt ons and JB4, felt significantly faster and more furious, in a straight line, than my ///M2. But look at the entire package. I highly doubt a stock M240 will handle, brake, and perform on the track as well as a stock M2. Even cosmetically, the M2 looks so purposeful, when compared to the M235/240. And I still think the 2016 M2 is a bargain. When I took delivery of my M, the dealer had a loaded M235. Sticker was $56k!
Competition is usually a good thing; this almost assures that the next ///M2 will just be that much more powerful... -c

And in terms of the engines, well, it was bound to happen. But it's about the whole package. Like I said earlier, this just means the next ///M2 will be that much more powerful. -c

If he does, the comment will morph into why the "i" brand will be the best lux-hybrid sub-brand by 2057, and that somehow, all of this makes that happen.

As I read on German 1erforum.de the M235i is basically a 220i chassiswise(camber/toe) and whatever you do to it , it never will be a more tracky M3/4 chassis like the M2 has to begin with. Understeer @ turn in etc.
I know this does not sound interesting to 80% of this community(I reckon) but keep in mind M2 is not a Quarter Mile King and never will be. Cheers Robin |
