I had the opportunity to drive the GT4 back to back with a 991 C2S, and the 991 had an even heavier clutch IMO. Hell compared to the 1989 911 and 993 Turbo I drove a few years back, the GT4 is pretty easy to drive.

But then you jump back in a BMW and you think the slave cylinder is leaking
+1
When back in the M2 I thought there was no clutch at al

I felt no lag in the Boxster S, It felt very lineair, it steered beautifully, better than my 981 cayman GTS, I loved the new compact multi function GT steering wheel, just perfect!! So much better than the alcantara GTS wheel.

The brilliant PDK is the icing on the cake I would say, now I know a lot of people want an MT. But the way current MT`s are working (GT4, M2) with the auto rev match feature, the difference with PDK/DCT and interaction expected from a MT is to small IMHO. A MT is not a traditional MT anymore, this will make future decisions on DCT/PDK easy.

I now have the M2 6MT, but for the way its functioning you could also buy the DCT, and that is exactly what I`m going to do with my next car.

I feel your pain !

Must say the Cayman GTS, although a beautiful 6 flat screamer , had its flaws on steering and seating posiotion.

Now I`m a quick learner so next will be 18 way adjustable seats, the smaller, leather compact multi-function steering wheel, in Cayman GTS or GT4 next generation.

I do not agree with your opinion but you are entitled to it. I don't feel Bentley Continental GT, DB9, or BMW M6 in the same class of cars as the BMW M2.

The wheelbase is in no way "short"
-Not compared to my previous E82 1M
-Not compared to my previous 981 Cayman GTS

If I do compare the M2`s road compliance to my GTS the GTS wins hands down, the GTS is far more smooth on rough surfaces where the M2 is rather harsh and non compliant.
I had a JRZ-RS1 damper set on my 1M, that did the job just fine, even on rough streets.

The M2`s initial steering input is brilliant I have to say, very quick, I like it more than the GTS, witch initial input was slower, but when turning in more it became quicker.
Do you regret selling the 981? Or is a GT car what you were looking for?

Curious on your thoughts since you've had the 981 and the M2 now.

Regret is a strong word.

I mis the lightness of the car, the looks, the great PCCP`s, the 6 flat NA sound.

I do not mis the sport seats +, the alcantara steering wheel and steering characteristics .

The M2 is a great car, the GTS is a great car, but they are both not perfect.

The next generation Cayman wil have my full attention though, as I do believe BMW is not making lighter M cars in the next years.
As a dd the M2 is great, I do need the Porsche for some weekend play

A lighter car is key word here...........

Of course you and I are entitled to different opinions, I do respect yours.

But did you read and understand my motivation?

I`m strongly convinced although on a Bimmer forum, most members would say the M2 is a GT, and the GT 4 is a real sportscar.

The difference is very noticeable.

Wow, that looks nice!

Miami Blue with the chalk interior is a great combo. Those new wheels are cool as well, but look a little heavy. Regardless, what a beauty!

+1, not a fan of those 20" rimms

I would have chosen the Carrera S Satinum, or the Carrera Classics

2 x Cayman owner here (also have owned 135i and E92-M3) My best advice to a prospective Cayman buyer is to order small. I've had both the base and currently own a loaded $90K S model. I can tell you the add-ons are not worth it. Pick your color, transmission and add Sport Exhaust. That's it.

Used 981's are a steal right now. Personally if I was in the market for a Porsche I'd go find a used Boxster S. There are some great deals out there and the flat six w/ sport exhaust makes an intoxicating sound.

That's a good option list... I'd pretty much get a similar build

Any reason you didn't go PTV?

That's still one of the two things on my maybe list together with the interior.
I couldn't test drive a car with it to see how much different it is :/

Actually , unless you are going to the track a lot, I would say PTV is not absolutely necessary anyway. So I feel your build is already good as is.

Regardless, can't wait to see pics of your car. That graphite blue and chalk combo will be sweet.

I won't be tracking it at all, well like once a year maybe during those porsche club events. But thats more parading on the track and use their cars for track hehe.

I'll be posting them, probably in this thread... in 4months or so hehe I just hope that sport-tex doesn't suck. I hate that the dealer doesn't have samples of both the color and the interior and I'm the only person who likes it enough to order blindly =D

"Owner of the worst Porsche in modern history"

Well that's a unique title for me ;D
I understand the reviews, everyone that comes from a flat 6will have this opinion, this is just like Planet-9 but with a journalistic layout.

I did not see that worst side of PDK he mentions that you touch the pedal and it goes 2 gears down... maybe this is the excuse for me to get another test-drive.

Or maybe I should ask for a better discount if I'm buying the worst car they make
