I would like to see this car in black or Mineral Grey. And it's odd how the DCT equipped car weighs less than the manual equipped car.

Heavy and EPS. Pass.

Glad they are keeping the third pedal option alive and it is better looking than the M4 imho.

Sorry the 1M still does it for me. These cars should be even with the power/weight. Can't wait to see it tested against each other. Hopefully they do it right with a manual v manual.

No doubt the lower wider M2 looks more aggressive, but IDK that it looks better. Compared to these 1M pics yes, but the 1M I see in my garage looks different to me.

Ill keep my slot at the dealer for now, until I see it in person.... or I may just hold off and wait for the CSL or whatever they are calling it.
The scales in the photos are different, so it's not a true side by side comparison. For example. The wheel sizes are identical, but in most of the pictures the 1M's wheels look smaller. Also the differences in dimensions are as follows which you can't tell from the pictures:

- Wheelbase M2 is 1.28" longer

- Width M2 is 2" wider

- Height M2 is 0.4" shorter

The rear bumper makes me think of the X6M, especially in that color. I hope it looks better in AW.

The EU curb weight for the 1M is exactly the same as for the M2: 1.570kg

It's a typo. Should be reversed.

Definitely - one of the biggest weak points of the 2er (generally speaking) is the flatness and plain aspect of the rear. This is SO much better - I really like it.

The M2 will no doubt be a much better car... HOWEVER... I'm disappointed there aren't enough differentiation between the M2 and M235i.

No M mirrors... Interior dash no Alcantara or Leather like M3/M4 and 1M. Seats are just stock seats with blue stitching. There's a lack of differentiation within the cabin.

Exterior is definitely wider. But lack of flare, at least in photos anyway, I like the rims, the rear end looks ok, nothing "wow" about it, but who doesn't like quad tips?

I think overall, BMW could've done a much better job on the M2. I personally can't justify switching from a M235i to M2... BUT I would get the M2 over the M235i if I was in the market.

Cant wait to see the mods for this. Maybe flare the fenders a tad and add some spacers! Should look real nice!

^ I agree with that.
Also, I was thinking, BMW should stop calling it the M235i. It should be the 235i, like all the other series.

Been saying that for a while too...the M2 is the real deal...235, not so much...

"M" sells cars... just the way it is nowadays.

I don't know how much this "M2" is a full M car either...

I haven't completely read up on specs, but a tuned N55 engine... nothing special about that, what about the chassis? Only read different rear axle from the M3/M4. Put a DCT gearbox in (which the ZF8 is amazingly already), don't know what's so special about the M2... maybe when I drive one I'll say different but at the moment, not so much.

You're right, they are exactly the same car. It's unbelievable that BMW is charging more for this.

I shoulda known that you would have an allocation!

I think the M2 looks pretty nice. The front view is definitely a point for the newcomer. The side profile is a tie and the rear view goes to the 1M in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind bringing one home to keep Einser Rex company but there is a certain GT3 that keeps calling my name ...
