Again, I think that we're talking on different channel frequencies: please distinguish M2 Competition dealer allocations/slots and "limited production" (meant as a fixed production volume: x cars).

And about "mass production": BMW M cars are a BMW niche. Not quite "mass production". But if you happen to understand "as many cars as production capacity allows" to be "mass production", then affirmative for you: "mass production".

For the rest, believe who you want to believe. No-one over here asks you to believe anything whatsoever. A place to exchange experiences, points of view, finds, ideas, hearsay, speculation, etc. This is a discussion forum, not a science board.

def the random dudes
Yep. I've probably talked with 2 dozen CAs while buying my last 3 new cars. I found exactly 1 that was at least as knowledgeable as the random internet dudes. I think the odds tilt in the dude's favor.

Sounds good. Anyway I am myself going to wait and see till Jan - Feb time frame. I am letting the next guy on my dealer's list to move ahead. So basically I'm giving my allocation to someone else.

Wish we can get concrete info regarding the upcoming M2 variants by the end of this year. Its been 4-6 months about talk regarding this M2. Yes there will be CSL, No there wont be, When is CS coming out, No the CS is the Competition. No the CSL IS the CS. etc etc.

Wish we can get semi official news soon!!

Agreed.

Hey would you like to make a wager on who's right? Your dealer or random internet person? $100 over pay pal to the winner ?

Feels like this is all off the cuff now. It not really very fair on potential buyers!
I think it would be perfectly reasonable for BMW to give the current M2 the F80 treatment. Have the CS be the ultimate edition and keep the CSL for the next generation.

I fail to see how BMW have been unfair to customers, as far as I know, they have not released any official information to the public regarding a new M2 variant.

Worth noting that in the US at least, your dealer CA/sales wanker does not work for BMW. They work for a franchise that sells cars for BMW... And they are near the bottom of the info chain on this stuff. The sales manager and GM of the dealership know more than the CAs do, and may not always give out that information right away, if, say, they have a lot of N55 M2s left on the lot that they want to move.

Not gonna pick on buckybadger's dealer. An ad hominem attack always weakens the strength of any argument when the attacker has no idea at all about the credentials/merits of the attacked person.

Like all of you, I'm perfectly entitled not to like or love someone and his/her views, but always observe the basic duty to respect any person.

True story ...

Some dealer GMs share info( including info on allocations ) down to every last sales person. Other GMs keep what they know close to the vest and tell their sales reps little , instead encouraging them to " sell what's in stock."

Also people on this forum have very high interest in M2s and know what's going on. A sales person at a BMW dealership is interested in selling cars, and maybe cars in general, but not searching for M2 info every single day like us weirdos.

Of course...they will rather invest their time to sell 10 other 2 series than 1 M2

I have friends working in dealerships at various levels and every time we meet up they spilled about not hitting enough numbers...

Official BMW websites start showing the M2 featuring "M Seat Belts" (code 4GQ in the M2 Competition test mule VINs).

In the picture the knee-pad still features the polar blue stitching (since this year the stitching is no longer colored), so likely a photoshop job.

Well, at the least, the M stripe seat belts are a match for the steering wheel stitching.

Are they striped in the back seats of the M3/M4?

they aren't but as I've written before, they are not meant for the blue stitched dakota leather seats, but for the upcoming ///M seats in the competition m2.
BMW just cashing in 300 bucks until the LCI dies out

LOLWUT can you order those belts on a M2 Coupe already? How is that possible?

Just checked the CZ and NL configurators and yes you can order it there as well! In the Dutch price list, they are an option on all 2-Series models except the M2, on the NL configurator however you can get them! Price is not that high at 248 EUR netto
