Hi guys this is my first post so if I am doing something wrong let me know.
I have an M2 45K miles. I have upgraded charge pipe, intercooler, high flow cat exhaust. Parts installed 2 weeks ago. I was running Bootmod3 stage 1 for 2 months and runs fine. After installing parts I upgraded to Stage 2 Bootmod3. There is a. It that says you need HPFP for stage 2, I went and edited the tune making sure I selected OEM HPFP before flashing. The issue is It's cold 32°F and less out and since upgrading to stage 2 the car oil temp is not getting above 160°F. The car will start to vibrate and the fans kick in. I ha e a P3 guage and I can see the oil temp at 140-155. Normally oil temperature sits at 210°. I even tripes a code I read with my code reader, "Coolant temperature below thermostat regulating temperature". I am trying to diagnose..I drove to work today and it vibrated again. I flashed to Stage one and went into the office. When I leave work I will see how it drives. Any suggestions on what could cause engine to not warm between Stage 1 and Stage 2 if same tune? I am trying to eliminate if it is thermostat going out or if yout tune related. |

Secondly: in response to your note about “if I am doing something wrong let me know”: your post kinda hijacks this thread. In other words, your post is off the main/original topic of the thread. Your best bet would be to start up a new thread, probably in the Drivetrain / Exhaust / Bolt-ons / Tuning M2 sub-forum. |

I’ve noticed this too. I also notice that on my commute — about 20 minutes of constant speed 45 mph driving out in the countryside — it takes most of that 20-minute commute to get the oil temp gauge up to the ¼ mark. At 45mph in 6th gear, the engine speed is below 2K RPM; takes quite for things to warm up at that low engine speed. So, I don’t get to flog her much on my commute because things aren’t really up to temp until just a short distance before I pull into the gates of my employer’s campus. No opportunity to “give it hell” on my daily commute. That’s what the nearby canyons and backroads are for, right!?

Most racing oils in a turbo charged engine break down after 270 degrees. I change my oil religiously after each track weekend.
