Wut u talkin' 'bout no bulge? Just because the M2 shares it's bulge with the standard 2 series doesn't mean it's not there. You can't give it the double bulge can you? Take a look below.

My guess is the CS version will start around 70k. Just a guess. And, I thought you decided against the M2 because you didn't want to or couldn't pay MSRP.

Besides, I personally do not think now is the time to buy the M2 anyway. If you can maybe wait a year (they're all sold out for now anyway), you can get yourself into an LCI by next summer.

I definitely want to be on the list. Better to have a gun and not need it than need it and not have it. |

Im guessing if they do it properly it'll be the same price as the cayman GT4 (MSRP that is) ~ £64k + here. Don't want any of this flipping and colluding going on, people should buy them, use them and love them - will have to wait and see how that pans out. |

This might be a little off topic but do you know any dealers on the west coast who would always sell their cars at MSRP and not use the fact that it's limited to mark up the price. I understand that they could start charging more in the future but I just want to know who has not done this in the past even when it would've been easy to do so and get away with it.
Just thinking who I should put my deposit down with. My local CA already sells the m2 at 4k over msrp so I'm fairly confident who would jack up the price a lot more on the CS (L). |

For what it's worth...
A new source stated the following on the basis of talks with BMW folks:
"I have even already seen the test mule with the engine in the M. Wanted someday to see the engine bay [...]. It struck me that it featured the M4 strut brace. Was then confirmed that the engine is coming. 2018 was mentioned to me, but possibly only a small series (M2 CSL ?). But of course there are also variants that never become a series model."In a March 2016 interview about the M2, BMW M development boss Dirk Häcker remained vague, but did not rule out the possibility of an S55 for the M2 ("everything is imaginable" - "we will see what the future will bring"): Q: Zum Abschluss noch zwei kleine Fragen zur Zukunft des M2: Es gibt natürlich den S55-Motor mit 431 PS und ein wenig drängt sich die Frage auf, ob dieser nicht auch in einem “BMW M2 GTS” oder “M2 CSL” mit noch mehr Performance zum Einsatz kommen könnte. Ist ein solches Modell ausgeschlossen, um dem M4 nicht zu Nahe zu kommen, oder ist so etwas auch denkbar? And it seems that an F82 M4 CS (Clubsport) is in the works too (source: here).

Just spoke to a couple of dealers who said they will talk to their connections in Germany and get back to me. One of them said he met a few people at BMW M last week. None of them mentioned anything about a 2 series CS/CSL in the works. He did tell me that, he will let me know as soon as he hears anything about this.

This is what I want in the M2 CSL. Just put in the S55 without the turbos (If that's an option) to get about 400 HP and add in all the carbon fiber bits, a wing, hydraulic - assisted steering, get rid of the back seats and the technical package. You'll basically have a car that on paper should cost less than an M3/M4 to build and should be a lot quicker than the M3/M4 on a track.
That's what I'd want. Naturally aspirated, lean and something that talks to your soul. |
