Cry me a river. Sure, the M2 Competition is upgraded, but its not the end of the world. Its not BMW's fault that you bought one at the wrong time. If you bought an iPhone 7, and a year later they released an iPhone 8, would you be mad at Apple? I wouldnt.

I would not be upset. Primarily because I do not believe the story that the CS will be priced similarly to the base M2. The MSRP, may be that way, but don't doubt that the dealers will apply a major premium on it because of all the people who will have to have it.
Could just as easily call them suckers. But I won't. To each his own. I love my M2, and have no interest in the CS. |

You could but you'd be throwing so much money away if you bought new, only to have another iteration come out soon after that. Just skip the Comp and wait for the Comp 2.0 or CS.
Frankly if cost isn't important and you want the wrong transmission (DCT) I'd just wait for the CS.

Lots of idiots in here trying to tow the BMW corporate party line like they're employees or something.
I sympathize with the OP, I think it's pretty shitty and feels almost like a bit of planned obsolescence. Right now KBB says my M2 is worth 48-51k - Not sure I can actually get close to 50 now, but if I can I think I might sell the car and sit on the cash for awhile and wait until I can find a M2 comp near MSRP, or I might just pick up a P-car. I'm a bit soured by this. Will this new model by limited in production or manufactured indefinitely? |

I am not sure of BMW's strategy here. The 2016 M2 is stock almost as quick as an M3 the new version will be quicker especially with a tune. Which will be incredibly easy to do. So really you are buying a 500hp M2. So why go up the food chain. The 2019 M2 will be a beast any way you look at it. It seems incredibly stupid of BMW to me. Yes they can sell more M2's but they can hurt the rest of the lineup....unless the M3/4 become AWD.

Are you always so naive? Didn’t believe the S55 was coming. Well it’s here. Don’t believe this engine can be tuned to 500hp? Well it’s going to happen regardless if it needs extra bolt-ons. What’s next on your list?
