M GmbH is a GmbH, therefore FvM is not the CEO of the company as he calls himself. He is just the Managing Director.
I can't stand him at all. I really liked his predecessor so much more. He was bavarian, inspirational and always had a story to tell. It's the same with the cars... But you did a great job and did the best you could do!

My first post on here (UK owner) but it's all very interesting. Thanks for all the info MR! I've owned my car for a week and a half and I can see all this has really got people going!
Couple of points that have struck me; 1) M mirrors: Apart from ‘marking it out’ as an M car, I think the original mirrors actually look better. 2) Wheels: I just don’t like them. I didn’t like the originals at first but now I have my car, I think they’re great and soo easy to wash! These are nice though , kind of like my old E39 M5 wheels which I think were superb! Or the M4 CS wheels that were released on the black shadow edition recently. 3) Rev matching: As far as I can gather on my car, if you heel and toe yourself it quite often cancels out or matches the auto function anyway. I heel and toe everywhere and in everything so I'm so used to it that I don't know any other way to drive and I actually don't really notice the auto blip. 4) Red sport button: No, just no, not classy. probably more to come.......... Cheers! Last edited by KristianS; 04-19-2018 at 08:23 AM.. |

These unknowns with th auto rev is what makes me hesitant with the new M2C. Im looking for a fun car that I can control completely. Sadly all the M2's up to this point required you to turn off all traction control safety functions or to code it out.
Have to admit, the fact that they integrated M buttons but didn't include disabling the auto rev is a big slap in the face. Why bother getting a manual then? I understand everyones viewpoint that it really isn't that intrusive. But c'mon BMW, just give us an easy option to disable it. Taking away the fun! |

He is doing what the brand need to do and is going into the right direction if you look at the car world as a whole. Only thing he should do, and I told him this, is be more connected with the community and develop more special edition models. MR |

I shouldn’t have to change the comfort/sport/sport+ settings to increase or decrease the exhaust volume. Sigh.

Agreed - I was in Sport+ the vast majority of the time, but I would put the car into the normal mode when in traffic sometimes. Exhaust flaps were ALWAYS open though. It was a great feature.
The M5 got it, so there’s hope for the future.

Gorgeous! Great write up too. Glad to hear the head of M prefers a manual. Perhaps there is still hope for us shifters.

Speaking German @ BMW AG is a requirement. If you don't? Then forget about late nights at the Bier Hause. You have to go to Language class.

Aerodynamic pieces developed for the current M4. I have reason to believe the swan song for the current car. With the M2 Competition. It now becomes an additional level and not just a Packet. Therefore it will expand the range of the M series and also include the SUVs and equivalent Activity Coupe.
