The polar blue stitching on the knee pad was standard in the MY16 and MY17 M2.I still don’t understand why they discontinued it in the MY18 LCI M2 and why they are not offering it in the M2 Competition. It looks awesome.

I heard that it is more technical than we even assumed; when you are going over a certain high speed or an making emergency maneuvers, the vehicle's ECU adjust the damping, on the fly, automatically to best suit the situation. Cool..

Also, with the holy trinity of M controls; steering, throttle response - and now the fact that damping is not factored in the equation - IMO it feels a little incomplete...

Edit: Just wish it was an option but I understand why it isn't..

£1,250? Seems like a fantastic deal given how bad the standard brakes are.

Where did you get the price? Do you have a full price list yet?

Ive seen the price list at the dealers when i went to place deposit.

For the items i was interested in:

Brakes: £1250 (might have been £1275)
Reversing camera ~ £330
M sport seats weren't listed as an extra but electric adjusting ones were ~ £640
This was actually rather obscure as its very ambiguous as to whether they are actually standard or not in a manual form. Was no mention of standard M2 seats.
Think folding mirrors (with auto dimming) was around the £440 mark
M drivers package was a touch over £2k but no hint as to what this included other than speed delimiter to 174mph. Id assume they'll have to package something much more substantial to warrant this (maybe the brakes alongside something else?) it didn't specify.
Also saw the colour change option to black for the regular wheels was just a touch over £200 Edit: when i say regular im sure they were coded 788
Paint colours inclusive a la M2

Nothing was shockingly outrageous price wise (bar perhaps the m drivers package depending on what its actually including). It actually seems very, very good value. I am waiting on clarification on the M Sport seats though.

Not a fan of the new front facia...disappointing. Or the new wheels. But would love the new engine and electric flexibility.

Thanks.

Not got a price list from my dealer yet, despite asking and despite having had a deposit in since May 2016...

As you say, prices are very reasonable.

All of the price comparisons will have little bearing on the US market. Backup cameras are required now, there won't be extra charge in the U.S. I am curious about how many options will appear on U.S. options list.

I care! I'd buy a M2GC tomorrow. I have baby/toddler car seats so 4 doors would be ok in a small rwd 6spd car.

I’d prefer the starter to be glass like Aston Martin or real carbon fibre to match the trim

Glad I didn't sell my 1M in anticipation of this model...finally M mirrors for those that wanted that feature and it looks like an overall nice car but for me the joined front grills make it look like a Kia from a distance...and where might the CF roof be?

It would be a direct replacement for my E36 m (er...M3/4/5 for the US market. 332i for global, bespoke motor types). The rear doors are big enough to get in kids, local riding passengers and TRACK TIRES. BMW and Team PTG campaigned the 4 door E36M very successfully. My E36 is getting a little long in the tooth, but it's a form factor that meets far more use cases than a comparable two door...Without a weight penalty, btw. Both 2 and 4 doors came in at the same weight for the E36.

Great White has a screen shot of the top part of the price list in his post.

Brakes are actually £1350, sorry, must have wishfully subtracted £100
Everything else is more or less spot on.
