Did you get a hazard sign mounted to lid of your trunk?
I met with another M2 owner a few days ago, after having received my MY 18 M2...
He opened his trunk, and I saw he had a folded, hazard slgn held in place in the lid of his trunk. I have a space in the lid of my trunk for a sign, but I didn't get the hazard sign! My SA says he'll check into it, but he thinks the other owner may have ordered it with his car. The other owner tells me he doesn't remember ordering it. Not a big deal, but if every elses car came with it, I'll ask to get one from the dealership I purchased my M2 from. So my question is, did your M2 come with this hazard sign? Did you pay for it? Thanks in advance! |

They are mandatory in Germany so if he did European Delivery he got one.

My SA asked for me to get my friends VIN number, and the SA can pull up his order and see if he ordered it and paid extra for it... I was just curious... I've seen a few M2 reviews, and people have them in their trunk, but they could be in Europe... Thanks! |

Weird, US cars don't normally come with those.

No, it will not pass US customs with that in the car, it's not a part of US spec sheet. I had to remove mine and take it home with my luggage including the first aid kit and reflective vests.

While widely used in Europe and some other parts of the world, those "emergency triangles" are not common in the USA or Canada. My 1M, which came out of Canada originally, was purchased with ED. It has one. My M2, recently delivered in the USA, does not.
If your car was disabled on the side of the road in N. America, I think you would be better off with one of those LED warning light sets than with an emergency triangle.

Glad to see this thread. I'm assuming the FA kit and vests can be stuffed into any carry-on, but is the hazard sign too long to fit in a regular 22" carry-on? Does it require a larger bag? I'm having trouble gauging the size from photos I've seen. Thanks in advance!

The way to get these is ED. Unless you want to purchase them on your own of course.
When I did ED of my e92 M3, I had to take the triangle and first aid kit out of the car before dropping it for transport back to the states. If I hadn't, it is removed at the port since they are not DOT approved in the US. Quite ridiculous. |

I don't think customs removes anything at port, mine was still on my 135i when I picked it up at the port of Baltimore once it cleared customs. If they're being removed, I'd think it would be BMW VDC doing it.

Mine came with a mount for an AR15. Fits perfect with two slots for magazines.

BMW just states they aren't approved accessories for the US market and therefor can't leave them in the vehicle for redelivery. It must be some sort of liability for them with the redelivery process because I've shipped vehicles without manufacturer approved accessories in them without any issues.
