Did you notice the release said black mirrors are standard? If that’s true, BMW won’t go to the expense of producing mirrors in different colors - they’ll use painted caps on a standard mirror base. Then everyone will be able to have Spock ear mirrors.

I’m not sure why everyone’s so excited about the s55

I sold my m4 zcp to get a m2 because the sound and emotion from the s55 is awful IMO - if you want a straight line car the rs3 is a better option

I saw that too but decided not to panick since many have already been made with 6MT... And by standard do they mean I can take a few K off for the Manual...
My best guess is that manual is a no cost option or this press release is for a country where 6MT is additional cost. ?

Someone has indicated the press release is for Australia. That would be a horrible decision for the US market if this version is DCT only.

All I know is no 6MT, no care. Plus the wheels are ugly.
No 6MT, no purchase from me. Also I believe the current wheels will still be offered.

This combined with the fact that BMW doesn’t include the N55 M2 in the M package on their recently launched subscription program proves it to me. I’m willing to bet they will include the S55 M2 in the M package though.

It makes up for everything that was lacking in the N55 M2; Upgraded engine (biggest point imo), upgraded interior, a bit more aggressive styling (grill, bumpers, mirror).

Cons
  • Styling
  • S55 Engine. If they have crippled this car by not bringing over sufficient cooling.
  • COST. This car is not worth the price increase I am expecting to come with it.

As a current M2 owner.... This made my day! :happy anim:
Just wait until the release and we have all the details, then do this again. This is unfortunately a leak and not a full release with all the information.

that's right. Good news there the original wheels look great.

Weren't brakes optional also ? Wonder if the ugly wheels are needed for the bigger brakes.

That is impossible looking at the shape of the glass. Black high-gloss is the same as the M3/M4 has.

It is the lower part underneath the colored cap that can be replaced to a carbon fiber cap.

Nothing different to what we have seen before.

But will it have a kill switch for the parkingsensors?
I see 6pot calipers in the front... when the brakediscs on my car need replacement, i'm getting those for sure.
The seats look nice, but i'll take a set of recaro sportsters in dakota- polar blue stiching trim over them any day..

^Agreed. There is much more going on here then what we see.

Previous leaked images have shown a similar exhaust can to what is on the G8x M3/M4.

Really? I’m sure BMW could handle the engineering challenge of designing a plastic cap for the new mirror.

Like all the aftermarket ones... hahaha and then say we have them now as well. That would be something.

Can't say I don't like it but I prefer the softer look of the normal M2 bumper. Not a big fan of the S55 either.

It contains quite enough. And SCOTT26 confirm the authenticity of the leak.

Looks like the protruding exhaust muffler is here to stay as expected

To match the over sized front grill.

There’s a lot of urgent mods for people who get this car.

Those pics are at slightly different angles. I'm sure they're different. It's just not that simple to tell. The anarchist in me would find it hilarious if it's found to just be a cover.

Pretty sure it is a whole unit. The turn signal strip is different.

But also pretty sure they can be retro fitted.

Really the only interested item on the new car

The revised front bumper is a huge improvement and fits the size and styling of the M2 a lot more than the one on the standard M2 - fangs are proportionally sized! Overall a nice upgrade to the M2.

So no adaptive suspension and is it going to sound like the M3/M4's?
