BMW seems to pick 0-60mph times out of thin air specifically for marketing purposes.

Biggest change is the engine on the M2C... Amazed the focus is not more on that. All the other stuff you can almost retrofit on your base M2.

MR
Seriously. The only reason to get it is for the engine. The rest is just fluff.

MR
I knew that but thought they interchange 0-60 mph and 0-100 km/h for this rating. Silly me of course there is a difference of a few tenths of a sec.

I am happy with my current M2 and not considering the M2C at all. The iX3...different story. Quite interested in that.

The kidneys must be for euro crash regulations?

I wonder if this crippled S55 will use the regular encryption or will have all new encryption, that will help decide if it's worth getting

I'm also glad.. but.. it's going to be faster. Much faster. With a huge tuning ceiling compared to N55. But that is only really appealing if you want to go faster in a straight line. This forum seems to value that. For me, the N55's response and sound aren't worth the tradeoff, not even remotely. I have said it before and will say it again. No-one disputes the capability of the S55. But the motor isn't for everyone. It does have drawbacks over the N55 whether the journalists or the forums want to admit that or not. Character and sound are just as important as 0-60 especially after you inevitably get used to the power after a few months.

But if you want the latest/greatest and most capable, that will be the S55 M2 without question. I'll skip this model and wait for the S58 version to arrive. Although who knows how huge the front grilles will be by that point.

This looks amazing. They've grown it up quite a bit with the additions and the front end looks even more aggressive. My only wish is that it came with CF roof, full leather, and HUD - then I might be talking to the wife about trading in my F80

Given how good the M2 already sounds I can't wait to hear this one with, especially with MPE

Also, interesting that it has the F80/2 seats but these are wrapped in Dakota, not Merino leather

I can't understand why this version has the same steering wheel as the normal M2. They couldn't add the M - Performance wheel?

Anyone have a clue at what this will come in price wise? I highly doubt the M2C will follow the same pricing for the M3/4 comp package. Especially with a different engine.

I also find it hard to believe this will be approaching M3/4 territory as far as price. (Without dealer markup) But then again the M2 is truly special so who knows.

I'm hoping it comes in around 60k, pipe dream?

Exactly! My first changes will be to add a Stage 3 tune, cold air intake and performance exhaust (not sure what brand). Probably also add Sport Downpipes. Everything being equal I would have no reason to expect the M2 Competition to lose to an M4 in a drag race with the M2 being lighter.
M2 lighter? By 80lbs? Has it dropped more weight in this form?

Understood but that's not an M car imo. This is supposed to be an upgraded M2. They should have included this.

See M5 Competiton, M3/M4 Competition etc. They don't get changed wheels. New steering wheel reserved for CS or GTS models

M Performance wheels are for CS and GTS/CSL models, not Competition.
