So a dyno trumps what it feels behind the wheel, interesting. I personally feel the S55 revs more freely and I enjoy the higher redline. So I’ll repeat, I perfer the M2 size over the big M4. I also prefer the S55. I would pay BMW extra money for a smaller M4. But hey...what do you know, they damn well offered that. It’s ok, I still like the current M2. I’m not hurting anyone’s feelings...I hope.

6MT will still be available according to vin numbers. Although I do find it interesting that someone pointed out the leaked release hints at DCT being standard.

It was leaked on an Australian website, maybe that is the reason. Local markets have different demands.

So this is exactly what the M2 should've been normally with actual M sport seats and mirrors.

It will be interesting what little tweaks they did besides the obvious. They very well could have done some eps retuning. The M4 CS received some stability control and electronic steering retuning.

Seems like the 763M wheel goes for $750 ish per wheel.

https://www.bmwpartspros.com/partloc...catalogid=8798

I might just have to go this route.

How much can some sell the standard M2 wheels for?

I read DCT as standard and panicked a bit. IMO clarification is needed.

Will that bumper fit the Pre-LCI/LCI M2's? Our intercooler might get in the way or just different tabs/connecting points.

I like it lol.

I 100% disagree with that statement.

I personally much prefer the more rev happy nature of the S55.
Rev happy? They rev at the same speed. what are ya talking about. I noticed no difference when I drove an M3.

As a pre-LCI owner, my opinion is that this looks OK. As others have said, changes are subtle to non-fanbois.

I never understood the obsession with the M mirrors, but they do look good on this M2C now that I see them.

Ambivalent about the new grill, it looks kind of forced (as some have said) but that may just be because I am used to the old grills. They will likely grow on me and look OK once I am used to them.

Wheels are meh, but can easily be changed.

S55... mixed feelings about this. I am really curious about the "weight-optimised twin turbo" statement. Does that mean they anticipated the tuners and scaled the turbos down to make it less tunable? Did they keep the air-liquid intercooler, or sacrifice that too? Would be a shame to have to suffer the S55 sound and lose the tunability... but maybe it has a smoother power curve if they really shrunk the turbos. I have never driven a twin turbo that was smooth though - they tend to kick you in the butt.

I hope they do not price it too cheaply, due to selfish reasons that a <$60K tag will hurt my car; but am not really concerned as I am not selling anytime soon.

The seats are the only thing I am really jealous of. Even in Dakota leather they look sweet.

Early reports say this new straight six sounds AMAZING and provides ~20-25% more HP than the outgoing S55.
You sound salty lol

I think if you did spec out the upgrades it would amount to 10k+ but I’m thinking BMW would package that in and reduce it to a 5-7k markup instead

I’m just glad BMW didn’t go full Mclaren on the us. The changes are not overly drastic to make current owners feel like they got shafted imo.

He sounds objective not salty. The rumors say 10K. I am surprised you don't find that reasonable. Makes sense to me. The B58 sounds fantastic so I imagine an S58 has a good chance of sound really good. It also makes total sense that the M3 and the X3M share the same motor.

I felt the M2 had smoother power delivery(mainly power down low), while the S55 felt more raw(keeps you on edge of your seat). Yes I feel the S55 revs more free and prefer the higher redline. I certainly do not feel the engines feel the same as you. To me they certainly have different characters.

In my post I did say I find it reasonable to be 10k+, I just don’t think that BMW would charge $1:$1 cost for each upgrade. It would make sense to package it into a roughly 5-7k markup. IMO
