Man I wish you had a LBB or AW. I'm trying to stray from darker colors as FL gets super hot in the summers but other than you have options that I am looking for ie. Executive, DCT, & Apple CarPlay.

Not to hijack the thread, but why do people buy SUVs from BMW or Mercedes or Jaguar or Porsche? Is it the brand? Status?
Companies that came up on asphalt don't really know dirt, IMO.'

Most of these that I've seen are equipped to bend rims if they venture off the side of their driveway.

People drive SUVs to the grocery store, not to the Baja 1000.

Maybe some people. Every SUV or truck I've ever owned got more than it's share of off-road use.

These deposits you guys are putting down, are they refundable should anything happen between now and when the car arrives?

Also, has anyone been successful with securing european delivery?

Yes they are. In fact, I haven't even officially put the deposit down. We signed a purchase agreement stating I'm the #1 on their list and they will sell me the car at MSRP. I offered putting the $1k deposit down immediately but my sales guy said they will collect the deposit once they receive their allocation.

I decided to put a deposit down because I had a chance to. We'll see if I buy it but it's at MSRP. My dealer doesn't mark up over MSRP it's policy.

Which dealer in the Bay Area are you able to get MSRP? Is it Peter Pan BMW?

Peter Pan, Stevens Creek, and East Bay all sell at MSRP. I also have couple backups from east coast. I recommend not sticking to Bay Area dealers. So many dealers in the wild haven't even heard about M2C or don't have a list yet. I bet you can still grab a #1 spot at some dealer.

East Bay will sell at MSRP but their list was 19 as of yesterday....

They did have a 2018 M2, manual, MG but they were about to drop 10K worth of M performance stuff on it.

Dealer lists are hitting double digits almost double what M2 lists were.

No F80 to order and M4 guys will come down to the shorter wheelbase.

This car is going to be popular.

M2 L pricing might not go down as much as people think.

If you want an Mcar right now....

G80 is here in 2 years, No more F80, lists are forming, F80 values might go up.
M4??? IDK, I think that allure will dwindle, maybe not.
M2 comp. Get in line and be willing to pay up.
M2 L Only 3 year run, Almost all sold before they hit, so people paid full MSRP,
limited to a degree, You don't see many, possibly the most well celebrated Mcar in years.

The market is tight.

When M2 was officially released in Fall 2015, my local dealer (Stevens Creek BMW, sells at MSRP) had a list over 30-40 people within couple weeks. East Bay BMW and Peter Pan BMW (both also sell at MSRP) had double digit lists within couple days after the first reveal. The hype was definitely crazier in 2015 when M2 was first announced. Were there people who paid over MSRP? Definitely. But I do know that most people on this forum paid MSRP since I was one of them (I waited 10 months in line, ordered the car, and backed out last minute). Also, there are currently 357 new M2s and 307 new M3s on dealer lots according to Autotrader. These numbers of course will go down but it will take some time.

I hope it works for you. We'll see what that MSRP ends up being.

Given past experience I can easily see "market adjustments" with dealers knowing that some will give up their spot on a list to others willing to pay.
u sir are absolutely correct. won't know until the dealerships decide if greed is more important than a long term relationship. I'm bout to drop 115k on a X5M for the wifey. but if BMW gives me the run around on price, I have 2 vehicles picked out at porsche that blow BMW outta the water.
So instead of buying the Porsches that 'blow the Bmws out of the water ' ... you are getting not one.. but both bmw.
