Yes, and what will an M2 CS have that the base M4 does not? Less power? Less luxurious interior? No adaptive suspension option? This car should come in at $65K

M4($70K) to rumored M4 CS($100K) = +$30K

M2($55K) + $30K = $85K M2 CS

On that basis I would think that it can’t be any more than the M3. So call it $70k.

You're kidding right, there are quite a few cars that have less in all categories than the M4 and cost more than the M4, think P-car. Does that make them worse? Not at all. You do realize this car is in the sports car category where people put a premium on performance. You better believe if the M2 CS outperforms the base M4, which it obviously will, BMW will price it accordingly.

Any hoot by your logic $1500 on top of a PE M2 gets you an S55 engine? Highly unlikely. But we'll know soon enough I suppose, it'll be interesting to look back at this thread when that happens.

If for some hair ball reason BMW does price the CS anywhere near 65k I would feel really bad for all 150 PE owners.

I laugh every time people reference the PE to determine pricing on the CS. PE was only offered by the marketing team at BMW USA to take advantage of the M2 hype by forcing the naive to purchase all the over priced M-perf parts+$2500 for M driving school. I will not feel bad for them. Pricing will be dictated by the global scale, starting with Germany. I'm sure they will offer a myriad of M-perf parts for the CS as well. The S55 engine is no longer the unicorn it once was. Something like 50,000+ M3/4s are out there and you can be sure the cost of manufacturing the engine has dropped significantly since 2015. Not to mention R&D of the engine has already been absorbed. The M2 was praised for being a great value and the discussion will change if BMW charges well into M3/4 territory. Even the cayman GT4 started for less than a base 911... This is all speculation, guess we will just wait and see.

Using absolute numbers in this scenario makes no sense... at least to make your argument carry a bit more weight use % increase? Which would put the M2 CS a little under $75K... still too high imo

Definitely more than an M4 ZCP.
Less than an M4 CS.

How any other possibility is an option I have no idea. I LOL at anyone thinking that's too high given the M2 hype. $72K with options up to $85K

My 60k to 65k USD starting price estimate seems to be the most likely now.

Fair enough, but that would be a 43% difference putting the number close to $79K

ynguldyn mentioned the base M2 will end production on June 2018. The replacement should be closer to the base m2 price.

Your assertions of the PE and marketing are no more valid than guesses at M2 CS pricing.

It is well established that the PE was an offering created by BMW USA and that is why it is not offered anywhere else in the world. Or do you think BMW engineers decided to throw on every M-performance part already developed and charge a higher price? No. So no, this is not an "unsubstantiated wilder assertion with the word marketing in it" As mentioned, ynguldyn is claiming the M2 EOP is 06/18, making the M2 CS the only offering. I would be surprised if BMW decided to price this well in to the $70K range, thus eliminating an entire demographic they just reached with the base M2... Now that is unsubstantiated speculation

Now the question is, how many buyers will be happy with a "base" M2 CS ?....or will many choose to option themselves to death?

Using this same logic a base 911 should never cost less than a special edition Cayman....oh wait.

Cayman GT4 MSRP: $84,600
Base 911 MSRP: $89,400

Now the GT4 RS may be another story... but that is unsubstantiated speculation

I think what he is saying is that the M2 PE was a NA offering and that fact is well established. It is NOT speculation.

I didnt make the rules or market vehicles. BMW did that. So not to include the PE is ignorant. Its just like the Comp pack M4. BMW markets the PE and Comp M4 a step below the CS models, that is fact. If that changes then they are going against their own marketing.
