I still think the base price will have a 5 in front of it.

It's split between people saying that it will be a small price bump to support the M2 as the entry M car, and others saying a large price bump to compensate for the S55 engine. The forum doesn't seem to be aligned on what the price will be and why.

Well a lot of the disagreement is essentially debating the positioning of the Comp specifically. Clearly it will be higher than the current M2, the question is how much. Just a bit and still essentially the entry-level M? Significantly more and a price befitting one of the most visceral, fun, responsive and track-focused M's? Somewhere in between?

Whilst that would be awesome, my guess is that the tweaks will amount to a greater bump in MSRP than that.

So? M4 production continues. Do you think there will be only $2-3K difference between M2 and M4 base prices? I think not...

I predict the M2 Comp. will base at 60K but BMW will nickle and dime you with a la carte options to make it seem like a 'reasonable' value... By the time you get it the way you want, it will cross 70K but will sell every single unit, regardless of the price.. Some of us bitch about an extra 5k more MSRP, to others, dropping 70K on someone they want is not even a second thought. Like my neighbor with 3 different 80K cars, who doesn't even know the model or features he bought; I had to teach him about his own cars...

Evo Magazine is reporting a ~1.2% MSRP price increase for the M2 Competition for UK over the '18 M2. £46,695 -> £47,260.
(Big thanks to @Mambo & @homerdog for informing us of this & for the pics!) From this article: Last edited by Chako; 04-13-2018 at 11:42 AM.. |

UK OTR pricing increase is 5%...M2 vs M2C. Now that another UK mag(Autocar) has confirmed UK models has the sport seats and perf leather as standard. The US msrp increase should be less than 5%, sport seats and perf leather will be an option in the US.
