Our mistake! The 265/40-18 is a perfect fit for the rear, but we still recommend going with a 275/35-18 if you want to go up in size. For the best fit, we recommend going with the following:

F: 18x9" ET30 - 245/40-18
R: 18x9.5" ET35 - 275/35-18

I have listed tire heights below to give you more context:
  • 245/35-19 stock front tire = 25.75" tall
  • 245/40-18 front tire = 25.72" tall (perfect match)
  • 265/35-19 stock rear tire = 26.3" tall
  • 275/35-18 rear tire = 25.58" tall. (-2.8% short)
  • 275/40-18 rear tire = 26.66" tall (1.3% taller)
A 275/40-18 is a bit tall and you may be at risk of scrubbing. There are also way more options in 275/35-18, stays within a 3% of overall rolling diameter, and it matches the front 245/40 better.

A 265/40-18 could be used in the rear though since the height is 26.35". That is almost perfect to the stock 265/35-19.

Let us know if you have any other questions

-Matt

Will the ARC-8 19x9 et28 clear the front caliper without spacers? Really want to get these together with 19x9.5 et33 for the rear. I'm concerned that no-one has tried this combination yet which leads me to believe that it will not clear.

Thanks.

You should have no issue running the 19x9" ET28 up front which mimics your front OEM wheel (19x9" ET29)

Edit: At least a 3mm spacer will be needed up front to clear stock brakes with the 19x9" ET28 fitment.

How much negative camber did this have with the M Performance coil overs?

While we don't know the exact specs that were used for this car, the Ground Control Touring camber plates should allow for at least 2 degrees of negative camber.

Does anyone have photos of any 19" Apex wheels on their car?

I saw these EC-7 (1https://www.apexraceparts.com/wheels/ec-7-wheels/19x10-5-et22-apex-ec-7-wheel.html), but wondering how these would look on an M2?

19" ARC-8

Well, sorry to say that the 19x9 ARC-8 does not clear the front caliper. Pretty disappointed since I asked twice and was told both times that these should fit without a problem.
It barely touches but it did remove a layer of masking tape I had placed on the front face of the caliper. Looking to see if I can use a 3 mm spacer to gain some needed clearance. The bevel inside the center bore is shallower on the ARC8 vs the stock wheel so I may have enough hub engagement even with a 3 mm spacer. Otherwise I would have to go up to a 5 mm with a hub extender which will probably require added camber ($$). I really did not want to go with spacers but I really like the look of the ARC8's so may have to compromise.

Thank you for your feedback Peter. This was unexpected and must be due to the design of the concave spokes on the ARC-8 wheels. Going forward, our recommendations will include a 3mm spacer needed to clear stock brakes.

You have a PM coming your way in order to best take care of you.

I loved my square set of snows using 18x9 FL-5 this past winter. Now I've got the stock 437M wheels back on for summer, but I'm starting to dream about my M2 with 19" FL-5...

Any chance 19" FL-5 will be available in the future?

While I don't have an M2 yet (waiting for an M2C), I just recently put some EC-7's in Anthracite on my BSM 135, and they look AMAZING!
I coveted them from afar for years and finally pulled the trigger. Should have done it sooner.

I highly recommend APEX wheels if you are considering them (and I'm especially a fan of the EC-7).

Would this set-up fit a stock suspension other than the 5 mm spacer up front?

Even with stock suspension, the 18x9.5" ET35 will require front 5mm spacers to clear the struts when used with 265/35-18 tires. A larger spacer may be needed with 275 or wider tires.

Not sure I understand. The quote above states 275/35 with 5mm spacers. Your saying 5mm with 265/35, and maybe larger spacer for 275/35. Is that correct.

That is correct. Some tires with aggressive compounds will run a bit wider than a standard 275 street tire, which may cause strut interference. On the other hand, many 275/35-18 street tires may fit just fine with 5mm front spacers.

We have tested many fitments that are known to be a bolt-on-and-go direct fit, but we know that many drivers will want to push the envelope a bit. Essentially, when running these more aggressive (275 and wider) fitments, we recommend being prepared to make minor changes or add spacers if necessary in order to get things dialed in perfectly.

Is it possible to fit a 9.5J ET35 without any spacers?

Or will the rim hit the strut?

Thanks for the post! Spacers will definitely be required for the 9.5" ET35. Typically 5mm is enough to clear the struts.

Has Apex fitted FL5 18" over M3/M4 with OE CCB's and gold 6P/4p calipers ??

If so - what width/offset works and could Apex have an 18" wheel option for M2Comp with m sport or MPerf BBK upgrade ???
