Yes if BMW 2 series will be in future on new front driven platform as next BMW 1 series will be. BMW M2 will then be somthing like A45 AMG from Mercedes. For sure without 6 zyl inline engine in this case.

I think M car's need to be Rear Wheel drive or they begin to loose their uniqueness. Now Audi has been AWD for years in most of their cars so it makes sense the the S cars are simply the top model in each group with the occasional RS car's topping those, but still AWD.
The M car's have been more than just the top model in each series....... Mike

Yes, I think they need to. I don't want them too but I think they need to,especially in the UK and some European areas. The power is becoming to much to enjoy all the time, when it rains or its damp you can't use half the power.
Yes, I think people want x drive and I think it will happen. Any more power and I would sign up for xdrive |

Having something you can switch between AWD and RWD actually sounds pretty cool. |

The M2 will end production once the 2 series changes over to the FWD platform (2019/20 will be last year of production). Chances are it won't come back after that.

I sense some sarcasm here, but I always thought the 5 series was the best all around car that BMW ever produced, including the wagons. The E28 535is was the best car I ever owned hands down when you look at performance, practicality, and comfort. Hell, the thing cost nearly $40K back in 1987. The M5 version was another level and may be the best they ever produced?

Anyway, as above, the next 2-series is going to be RWD and I doubt BMW will go 4WD. Not until they go DCT only. Oh, wait! |
