Congrats! I got the call today as well! Ordered a 2017 back in November and after 8 months of waiting I ended up with one of the first 2018 models!

Big congrats as well. I cancelled my 2017 which arrived in March of this year to wait for the 2018. Happy I did.

Add me to the list. Had a '17 allocation and BMW sent the dealership a PE which I declined. Got a regular allocation for a late June build. Switched to an '18. Now I have an early Sept build date.

The biggest issue was deciding between the MT and DCT since I do a lot of city driving although I haven't had a MT in a couple of years. Anyway, we were also looking for a hatch or small SUV. Drove a GTI MT and that was it. MT it is. LBB. EP.

Told my SA that the CS orders begin in March. He said I still had time to switch and I'd be second on the list. No mas. Don't even know if it will have a MT and a won't be able to get the LCI out of third legally when driven with, er, vigor. Plan to track her though.

Cheers and good luck to others that made the long wait. Now the mods. Will I need the aftermarket clutch pedal? Should I code for the European DSC. And code out the AST. Do I unplug the middle speaker and replace the rear speakers? Which track pads? Do I seal the paint? Black grills anyone?

Thanks to everyone in the forum for making the wait easier. Still 3+ months to go.... My patience with my patience is wearing thin. But there's finally light at the end of this tunnel.

I picked up a 2017 today. If I'm not mistaken, the 2018 has a touch screen. That will be a nice upgrade. The screen is just begging to be poked at!

Got email last week from my dealer confirming options and advising chassis number for my August build as well.

Mine will probably be Oct delivery though as it's a bit further to get it all the way down to Aus

With a GT3 to play with, you don't have the anxiety of waiting for an M2 like us common folk.

Congrats. I am helping a friend with his first euro delivery. Just put in the requested dates today for a 2018 LBB. We asked for Aug 7, 14 and 21. Any idea when the first few 2018's get delivered?

I do not, sorry.

I was just told mine would be built in August and delivered in Sept., presumably late Sept.

It was released to me yesterday. I do not know for certain when they received the allocation but believe it was within the last week or so.

The GT3 is great fun of course. That said, I keep the miles down. I look forward to the M2 as my daily and will not let miles get in the way of enjoyment for this car.
