I think I read that you can only upgrade/code to 6.0 "light".... I was interested in doing it but the whole coding thing has me just living with 5.0.

I haven't heard anyone successfully getting the dealer to upgrade them. Maybe BMW will make it official as an option at some point.
Why are you not able to code it in? |

From the posts here, it sounds like there is no functionality loss for MY17 cars: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...1315186&page=2

I also saw somewhere about nav no longer working with ID6 "Lite" -- not sure what are the prerequisites or hardware/software differences though, as per above it does not appear to be universal. Or who knows, it may have been hype.
What's the difference between full ID6 an ID6 Lite anyway? Other than the fact that US MY2017 M2s with ID5 don't have a touchscreen, nor the software update required to work with one. |

Well, to clarify, i couldn't code it using the BimmerCode app. Apparently some MY 17 don't have the option , probably earlier ones. Mines week 36 I think. Later MY17s can see the option for id6lite with BimmerCode app

I'm week 33 and coded id6 lite just fine, make sure you are looking in the right section in expert mode. See my posts in the bimmercode thread.
