There's no use comparing figures unless you start with making sure the policy limits and coverages are the same. Aside from that .. rates can very widely within a state and from state to state.. so your best comparison would be with someone that lives in the same county that you do. Aside from what coverages you have , what amount of limits you have , other variables like how far you drive to work, whether the vehicle is classified as business or pleasure, whether or not it's garaged or not , and of course..Your driving history ... all cause variations in rates. All in all .. most BMWs get a little bit of a pass from insurance companies. What car do we say is killing the M2 and M4 right now. The camaro 1LE and Mustang R. Want some sticker shock.. ? call your agent and see how adding one of those would change your policy. Anyone that thinks their M2 rates are high will likely re-think that after doing so. And the little extra letters like SS and ZL just make the rates go ... |

Sorry to resurrect this thread.
My agent sent me a new policy for '17 with liberty mutual. $166 month! No accident. Nearly 40. FULL policy, not cut rate. In Texas. This is exactly 100% more than my more expensive Tahoe, but I was told it is BC more expensive to fix. It all comes down to "collision coverage", otherwise it is the same rate as my other car. Is this a huge ripoff?? 2k per year. |

I'm getting hammered at 2600 for the year. 25 years old, riverside county, 100/300 coverage and no accidents or tickets. WTF.

I wouldn't settle for less with insurance I paid 1600 for Farmers with OEM coverage written in my policy. Wanted Liberty Mutual aka the same insurance BMW uses but they where 2k.. Watch out for these cut rate insurance companies when it comes down repair they will try aftermarket parts... not good enough for our cars.

The ConsumerReports review (last updated September 2016) is quite good at reviewing companies, pricing, and coverage:
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/c...e/buying-guide You don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish. I have Allstate with an umbrella. In Florida, we have a lot of uninsured drivers and accident attorney billboards advertising car accident settlements like lottery winnings. Also, an important factor for me with Allstate is new car replacement since I purchase rather than lease. |

With Allstate, I'll go up about $300/year verses my current 2004 M3. I didn't think that was too bad.

Did you get the Executive Package?
You may want to double-check with your agent if the extra safety 'nannies' https://www.bmwusa.com/byo.html#!/bu...kages/dbiz0j0j are factored in. My agent told me the VIN number tells them all they need to know about the features. If you garage the car during the winter, you can check if they offer a discount (mine does, but it has to be 3 months). |

I got my quote for my M2 from Geico and they quoted me $226 full coverage. I live in NYC. I think it's great comparing them to all the others. The cheapest one after that was $310 which was All-state. I'm 30 going to 31.

USAA quoted me 1500/yr - might be the best I have found
Live in Westchester county. NY I think my age helps plus no accidents or speeding tickets. Last edited by littleoldman; 04-06-2017 at 06:38 PM.. |

Hmm, I'm with Amica and it's only slightly more than my truck with max limits and lowish deductibles. My annual mileage is pretty low if that helps, and I live in a rural area, but I'm still young'ish. About $700 a year for the M2.
